I'm sure those were planned coaching symposiums. If I'm not mistaken he was in WI the weekend before and then ND this past weekend.

Talk about an interesting first few months as a HC for Carey though...

RE: Roy Manning
Good for him. I hope someone offers him a better coaching job next year, then when he accepts it and leaves Michigan the new team pulls the offer for someone else. Oh well, they found someone better, sorry. I don't hate him, I just want people to get a taste of their own medicine.

I hope so, what a scumbag move by Michigan.

How is it a scumbag move? Michigan had an opening because one of their coaches jumped ship to Oklahoma. It's the circle of life, or something like that. ha

Manning probably tripled his salary with one phone call from Hoke.

Amen.

I assume everyone else on this job board is still at the first job they ever had (assuming that they didn't replace anyone).

Coaches move around, its part of the game, but to offer someone in the first few months at a new position, when other candidates are obviously available seems like a d*ck move.

Nah Manning took 2 months to find a better job(though I don't blame him, he is probably getting a huge raise)..

Fleck was 1 day

What do we pay our assistant. I read recently that the Tenn Vols recently paid $300k to a RB coach.

RE: Roy Manning
How about a coach with experience, or who doesn't get in trouble in a Miami night club..

http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/...beach.html

How about a prominent high school coach with ties to Chicago(FOR RECRUITING)...

Or someone with experience from a FCS school..

GW can serve his time as grad asst, or high school coach and get some experience..Being an alum doesn't automatically make you qualified to coach here.. Look we just got robbed by Mich..We can do better.

My concern are recruits, does anyone know if the remaining coaching staff warned Manning's commitments that he will be leaving? How many recruits were Mannings? Could A. Turner be productive in Michigan's offense? I am sure whoever NIU hires, the person will be a quality coach.

He signed a LOI. If he goes anywhere he's sitting out a year.

Yup...However, I have no issue with Michigan or Manning about this.

Come on that was a set up and he was cleared of all charges.

I wouldn't think so, Manning is going to coach the OLBs at Michigan.

True! I hope Turner stays motivated with Manning leaving! He obviously had a strong relationship with hime because that is how he got to NIU! We do not need another Jamal Womble!
