NKU NORSE IMPRESSIVE IN YEAR #1 in D-1
You have to be impressed with what NKU has accomplished this year. They have a real shot at finishing .500 (9-9) in the conference. Dave Bezold has to be Coach of the Year.

NKU can be proud of what they've done this year, but I'm sorry you don't win coach of the year with a losing overall record, or .500 in conference. This NKU team reminds me a lot of Kennesaw State, who has now played 8 seasons in the A-Sun with 0 winning records. Kennesaw fans were rampant on here proclaiming that they would take over the world after going .500 in conference their first year.

Yes I'm a little bitter that NKU ripped Mercer by 20 points, but you can bet that Mercer will reverse that tomorrow.

NKU can look back on this year and say that they contended well. Let's just hope for their sake that they aren't on the KSU path, same colors and all.

I am also impressed with Northern Kentucky. Going 11-15 overall, and 9-9 in conference games, is very good for their first season in Division I.

But I think this is what a lot of us thought about them given their prior records in D2 competition, beyond what the ASUN admin shoved down the media's throat. They've brought a lot more to the table, facilities-wise, talent-wise, than a lot of our newcomers.

Hooray for them, I wish them the best and always figured they'd excel beyond those others.....sorry KSU.

Go Hats!
