I am convinced that conservatives are the new liberals.

Liberals used to be the ones with the crazy, obsessive bumper stickers all over their cars and the persecution complex if people failed to see the genius of their obvious wisdom. Now it's conservatives that do those things.

I am a proud Independent and a (right leaning) moderate but I must say that right now I know a lot more batschitt crazy elephants than donkeys.

I don't know anyone, and can't really think of anyone, who is a hardline donkey or elephant who isn't batsh*t crazy. The party lines, on both sides, make zero sense.
