Furthermore, UH hasn't turned the corner in attendance, especially now because you've gotta convince students (the 30 that come) to find rides to Reliant to play such superstar regional opponents as UConn and whoever-the-hell-is-in-the-Big-Least-today.
What I'm saying is good luck.
1. I didn't fail out of UNT you retard.
2. I reported you to the admin for spamming me with negs.
3. 44-21 WITH freshmen and sophomore starters
4. All of those look like real sellouts to me.

As a UNT fan, please do not question our attendance. Like it's already been said, UNT couldn't even sell out their stadium opener against a team that got as high as #6 in the country.
That basically tells me there is hardly a situation (outside of UT, A&M, LSU, etc. playing you at Apogee, and selling it out for you) where UNT will have a sellout.
Yet we still got a new stadium before Houston... We will see how Houston's attendance looks after posting some bad seasons in the no name conference.
A new stadium at a fraction of the cost and capacity. We could of had a new 32k stadium years ago, if that was our ambition. It's not. If you look at my edit, I said "I say this as respectfully as I can". I wasn't meaning to troll UNT or anything, so save the "no name conference" stuff.
If we can get it together, and remain a top ~40 program like we've been the past few years, I think 30k can be our new minimum with a few sellouts/yr of 42k+ being possible.

First, Apogee is a bad ass stadium. Don't hate.
Second, how big will the new Houston Stadium be? I don't see large crowds showing up to see most of your conference games (Temple, U Conn, Cinci, Memphis, Tulane, ECU, SMU,...). It also appears the conference Houston has joined will lose the Big East name to the C7, so the conference has no name. Does Houston have a back-up plan if this situation gets any worse?

he has a point about coog high academics...while our football is bad, our attendance is good considering our circumstances...one bad game results in like a 10K drop in attendance for y'all, and we've never averaged in the single digits in FBS football...y'all have many times

interesting I see no single digit attendance for UH

I say this as respectful as possible -- as a UNT fan, please do not question our attendance.
Meanwhile, we sold our stadium out for basically 2 straight years between 2010-2011, and still had a respectable number for a (to put it bluntly) horrible team in 2012. UH has turned the corner when it comes to attendance, IMO.
I'll say this bluntly - he questioned uh's 10k at that game. He brought pics. Sorry.
The bigger problem here is how it is now very obvious that UH fans have an absurdly grandiose view of their school. Pretty much, his argument was we will never sell it out because we couldn't even sell it out versus UH. Kind of funny, to be honest. You aren't Texas. If we played Rice, we'd have pulled the exact same crowd. We'll probably sell out the SMU game.
The "No-Name" conference (even though we're still the Big East for now) holds the 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th highest attendance averages (for the one sample year of 2012), the 3rd being Boise State.
I speak for myself when I say this, but the lame duck year definitely had an effect on our attendance, as we've seen numbers as high as 44,000 average (2007) which would move us from 5th, to 2nd (behind ECU).
With UCF playing host to South Carolina, Rutgers, USF, and UConn this year... expect that number or higher. Our attendance record is above 48,000.
Account for this in Houston and Memphis's attendance numbers (i'm not sold on SMU) (with Houston playing in Reliant Stadium, home of the Texans this year before opening up their brand new, 40k seat stadium after selling Robertson out multiple years in a row) and the Big East has the potential to boast the eight highest attendances in college football outside the power 5 conferences (excluding BYU and Notre Dame of course)

That being said, UTSA is a good exchange attendance-wise and I wouldn't be surprised to see them draw in 40-60k range IF and I mean IF they keep improving.
Actually Houston is not one of the top 3 fanbases in C-USA.
Your time frame of the last 5 years avg, UH = 27,501 UTEP= 30,305. For the time UH and UTEP have been in C-USA together, last 8 years, UH = 24,428 UTEP = 34,747. This is using ncaa reported figures. I believe USM would also be ahead of Houston. So UTEP 3rd, USM 4th and UH perhaps 5th in fanbase size. If we compare for MBB, obviously Memphis runs away with it but UTEP would be 2nd. Where UH would finish I'm not sure but I'd bet not in the top 3 MBB fanbases either.
attendence at north texas will improve vastly this year. our home schedule last year was a disgusting bit of interspecies erotica. with teams people have heard of and a new conference, i would be surprised if we had less than 22,000 avg. no, that's not world beating or even close, but it's a step in the right direction and will continue to grow...i hope...
I doubt that wither FAU or FIU will have an attendance bump with CUSA teams coming in.
When you're all the way in the tip of Americas phallus it's just not easy to drive to games for fans. Sure a lot of the diehards will be able to get cheap flights but I dont think they will be enough to make a "difference'
FAU and FIU attendance will most likely always be bottom of CUSA. UNLESS one of us goes on a tear thru the confrence and makes soem top 25 noise. S.Fla ONLY loves a winner.

The New C-USA West
UTEP 29,374
UTSA 29,226 -playing in the WAC
LA Tech 25,751 -playing in the WAC
Rice 20,325
Tulsa 20,020
UNT 18,927 -playing in the Sun Belt
East
USM 25,751
Marshall 24,896
MTSU 17,738 -playing in the Sun Belt
UAB 15,271
FIU 13,634 -playing in the Sun Belt
FAU 13,459 -playing in the Sun Belt
MWC East
Boise St. 35,404
Air Force 32,015
New Mexico 22,307
Utah St. 20,054 -playing in the WAC
Wyoming 19,555
Colorado St. 19,250
West
Fresno St. 30,915
San Diego St. 30,227
Hawaii 30,031
Nevada 23,432
UNLV 15,208
San Jose St. 10,789 -playing in the WAC
No Name Conference
ECU 47,013 -playing in C-USA
USF 44,130
U Con 34,672
UCF 34,608 -playing in C-USA
Cinci 29,138
Houston 27,247 -playing in C-USA
Temple 26,580 -playing in the MAC
Memphis 24,371 -playing in C-USA
SMU 21,292 (we all know this number is fake) -playing in C-USA
Tulane 18,085 -playing in C-USA
SMU's numbers are not the only ones that are a fake. The attendance numbers are usually tickets sold, those heavily discounted and tickets given away.

Come on....... Tulsa rarely sells (gives away) 25,000 tickets.
Sorry, but I get tired of people bashing SMU's numbers while other schools inflate their numbers.
