Shouldn't be a state secret that we have tortured people. That's been known for a long time. Daniel Pearl would have been glad to have been tortured compared to having his head cut off.

Whatever it is, it wouldn't have been possible without 8 years of Shrub. When the right was coming down on me for complaining about the patRIOT act and the like, this was exactly what I had in mind.

Don't defend your side, be it left or right, when this is going on. Because all it takes is an election to put it in the hands of the other side.

You will never find a single solitary word where I defend the patriot act or George bush. When it came to domestic spying and erosion of liberty, Bush was almost (but not AS) bad as Obama. But what empty suit has done lately has taken it to a whole different level and that's not in dispute.

Just be glad it wasn't like this when Nixon was in office...
