Anybody order Walmart Orange Bowl Blu ray?
I ordered the Orange Bowl blu ray from Walmart and received it today; however, what I received is a DVD with only the Florida State logo on it. I went back and checked my order confirmation e-mail and the descripton of the item clearly states "bluray, DVD, and digital copy." So, my question is did anyone actually receive a blu ray or is this another Walmart POS that I will be returning?

PS. If you are thinking of ordering, I wouldn't Just from reading the case I can tell the whole thing is pretty FSU one-sided.

I got the DVD from CBS Sports. It was never offered in Blu Ray. FSU is featured because they won the game. Just the way it is.

Meh...I get the FSU one-sidedness, but was really hoping for 1080p. Oh well, guess I will just not delete game from the DVR. Thanks for the info, Dog Fan!

You might want to re-think that DVR thing. We have our DVR from Comcast and it went on the fritz. We had to turn it in for a new one and lost EVERYTHING that we had kept on there....like both MACC games. :-(

Does it have a USB port?

My dads does and he just downloads the recordings onto an external hard drive.

The Kent State game is still on there, last I checked. Not the Ohio one though.

Yes, I have Directv's Genie. I have a 2 TB external hooked up to it, so it's already on the external hard drive. I would like to keep it hi def. I don't have a blu ray burner; that is why I purchased from Walmart. It was advertised as a blu ray, but came as a standard def DVD. Ugh...

WatchESPN still has all our games that were carried on the ESPN platforms in 2012. That includes, Iowa, UT-Martin, Kansas, CMU, Ball State, Buffalo, Akron, WMU, Toledo, EMU, the 2012 MACC and the Orange Bowl. They even have the GoDaddy Bowl from early 2012. The quality is good if you have a decent internet connection.

Just curious, can you play this directly from the external Hard Drive? Any issues with it? I wouldn't be opposed to hooking up a Hard Drive to my DVR. It would make it easier to keep things like old games. I burn some of them to DVD, but the quality is obviously bad. I'm not sure what a Genie is, I just have a regular HD DVR with DirecTV.

My dad plays the stuff thru the DVR. Its just not on the DVRs internal hard drive. The benefit is that if the DVR dies he still has the shows when he gets a new DVR.

Yea, he was asking about the MACC games. Last year's is still there but not the Ohio one, since that was 2011. I think I've rewatched all of 2012's games already at one time or another.

When we talked to the idiots at Comcast about our sick dvr, they told us there was no way to save the recordings on it. I thought that was odd at the time. However, it was a pretty old dvr so who knows.

In about a week, I will be able to tell Comcast to shove it. We are getting our phone, internet & tv thru a new company in our area that uses fiber optics. In fact, SO many people in our area are doing this that Comcast might as well pack a suitcase & leave.
The internet will be screaming fast...so MAYBE I will be able to see why some of you actually like ESPN3 for watching Huskie football. As it is now I think it sucks - and there is no HD quality. I am hoping to see a 100% improvement with the super fast internet speed we will have.

Which carrier? I'm looking to switch from Comcast if I can find something cheaper.

RE: Anybody order Walmart Orange Bowl Blu ray?
Cable is highly overrated. And this is coming from someone who watches a lot of TV and live sports.
Keep your high-speed internet, get rid of cable, buy an HD OTA Antenna (all local channels in HD), and buy a jailbroken Apple TV. This setup saves me about $100/month.

Get all the local channels (NBC, ABC, FOX, CBS) (1080p) through the antenna. And a jailbroken apple tv is heaven for those who love TV but hate cable. Shows are usually available a couple hours after they originally air. Great picture from sports streams too. Plus if you subscribe to Netflix, Hulu Plus, NHL GameCenter, MLBTV etc, you can stream the pic from the box to your TV. Greatest thing I've ever done for my bank account.

I have satellite with a 50" 1080P Sony Bravia smart TV. I have internet access through the TV, DirecTV Genie, and my Sony Blu Ray player. No way a computer can match that. I do my work on a computer. I don't need one for entertainment.

The company is iTV3. I don't believe they are anywhere YET except Central IL. It's an up and coming and people here are ditching Comcast in droves.
We switched to them about 5 months ago for my business and now are saving $100 a month. We don't have TV at our office, but they handle our internet and all of our phone stuff. I used to have 3 different phone company bills - 2 local and AT&T for our long distance. Now it's all on one and much cheaper.

+1

We have the same thing - the Apple TV

Smart TV where we use Netflix streaming plan...right now they are charging use $3.00 a month for some reason. We were expecting to pay $7.99 a month.

I have our laptop hooked up with an HDMI cord to stream all the shows that are free online. Also ESPN3.com is offered thru AT&T (our ISP). Finally we have the in-laws Comcast log in to watch a ton of other options.

Right now we are paying $21 a month for 3mb internet and all the TV we watch. After the internet promo ends after a year we will be paying about $43. We were paying $67 a mo for 1.5mbs internet and the standard cable package. That is a savings of over $550 the first year and $288 each year after. I spent $500 to buy the smart TV and all the HDMI wires.

Wow, Dog Fan, we have similar tastes in A/V gear. I am a bit of an A/V snob, which explains my irritation with Walmart. I want the OB on blu ray!

It would have been nice in Blu Ray, but the OB will not be a big seller. Thus, they are going for the lowest common denominator. And that's DVD, since DVDs can be played on Blu Ray players.
