What I don't like is his being a willing pawn in using his personal story regarding his wife to assault Constitutional rights. He is a big celebrity only because of what happened to Gabby and is using that to push for restrictions on those WHO HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH her shooting. The laws being considered will do NOTHING to stop criminals with guns, who cause most of the gun related homicides. He would not be a big celebrity if he was against any further efforts to undermine the 2nd amendment.
He's actually a "celebrity" because he's an astronaut, but whatever. He has as much right to speak out about the issue as you do.
Without looking it up could you name 15 astronauts from the past decade?
The days of the moon landings are over. Today being an astronaut is like being the captain of an Air Craft Carrier. Its a position of power, and an amazing accomplishment but 99% of Americans probably can't name you.
In point of fact a huge majority of people who know him only know him because of what happened to his wife.
