RE: It's time to break out the "garbage" comment again
The O-line will get better as the year goes on. They have 2 sophomores on it currently, as they get more experience it should get better.
I'm not too worried about Riley Ferguson at QB. Its only his second game as a starter at the D1 level. He will get better as he gets more experienced. I dont know much about JUCO football, but if I were to guess, it would be that SEMO and Kansas are probably the 2 best teams he's faced in his career to date. So give him some time, and he will improve.
RE: It's time to break out the "garbage" comment again
With all the talk about the offensive line..remember that they shift guys in and out and are looking for a good combination that will stand out.
Its like a 2 QB system kinda....it rarely works.
Guys need to develop chemistry...and if they are still juggling guys in and out on the offensive line...it is hard to develop that if guys around you are coming in and out.

I tend to agree. It is a message board but to call them "garbage" after a big win is a little much. Do they need to improve from an outsider inspection, yes.
I tend to agree as well, but you think we are even approaching harsh? You should check out the KU Scouts message board for yesterday's game. Those guys are brutal. "Hot Garbage" would be tame in comparison.

And Riley threw two horrendous INTs against an FCS team. Riley is looking worse than Paxton Lynch's first year at the moment. I don't know if it is the QB, O-Line, or Playcalling, but our offense would be lucky to put together 1 long drive a game.
That was his first game, there is a reason most teams open with an easy win... He looked much better this week than against SEMO. We just need him to keep getting better. Kansas, for all of its faults, actually has a solid pass rush. No reason to be throwing players under a bus after a blowout win.
I'm not throwing anyone under the bus. He just isn't playing very good.
You need to take a breath, and review the game again. This is the SECOND game for Ferguson, and you're ready to render a verdict? Sure, he held on to the ball several times today when he should have thrown it away, but he had no interceptions and had a decent day. The team s improving each week, they'll be fine.
This is not his 2nd game of college football and it isn't like he is playing against Bama... He just hasn't looked good which doesn't mean that he can't look good.

Kansas has lost 36 straight road games, hasn't beaten an FBS team in over 2 years, isn't replacing the best coach and qb in the history of their program, and has every right to be upset that all the p5 money can't keep them within 30 points of an AAC team.

Aaron Rodgers and Adrian Petersen would have a hard time producing with the way the line is playing. With all the players returning should not be possible for this team to be playing this poorly.
Tackles for loss allowed 109th out of 128
Sacks allowed 119th out of 128.
Rushing offense 82nd out of 128.
First down offense 114th out of 128
Red Zone offense 118th out of 128
Do not put the issues with the offense on Ferguson.

I will always respect him for taking that stand. He was exactly right and he wasn't doing it for publicity. His face and eyes show he was really hurt for his player. Love that guy. I wish more college coaches would approach the game the same way.
