2 of their 3 toughest conference games are home and their first 2 OOC games are home games. VA is near the bottom of the ACC barell and definitely beatable on the road. If they have any kind of luck at all they will win 9 at least

Even though half the people here have been sayin if we schedule an in state FCS school we will get a big crowd. But the take of EMU, UMass, and Akron is nonsense, they are in our conference. Unless we move out we will play them. Yes many people complain about our scheduling and Compher hasn't done the greatest job with that. These teams were scheduled before we knew about the Orange Bowl and our recent success, buyouts are expensive. But we do have Ohio State and Nebraska in the future. That's one the rise, you can only schedule teams willing to play you and often times, these games are made years in advance and are through connections in our athletic departments. Just let our guys play out this 2013 season. I don't want to here I'm not going because this schedule sucks. We are supposed to be the diehard fans. Stop being b-tches and get to HS, Kinnick Stadium, and Purdue and root on the Huskies.

+1

No kidding. Scheduling is tougher than it appears to us outside "experts".

A state school like EIU will put more fans in the seats than the Cal-Polyesters of the world.

The Huskies play at every game at Huskie Stadium. Here's an idea: Go to see THEM play. That's what other schools fans do. Good gawd.

EIU will bring more fans than any MAC opponent on the Huskies schedule this year. As a matter of fact with BSU & WMU being weeknight games and the number of fans those schools will bring being very small, coupled with EMU being one of the Saturday games and Akron(neither draw well) being the other; I wouldn't be surprised if the EIU brought nearly as many fans as all 4 MAC opponents do.

I just dont think they return teams that are at the NIU/Toledo level next season. Its hard for me to envision the west not being a battle between NIU and Toledo.

If you want to see Huskie football free this fall, buy a pair of NU endzone season tickets. They are only $152 and NU is home to Ohio State (10/5) Michigan (11/16) and MSU (11/23) should be able to sell the OSU & Michigan Tickets on Stub Hub or Ebay for at least $75 to $125 and the MSU tickets for $50-$60. You'll have an extra $100 to $150 to buy an NIU season ticket and can likely get at least face value for the Minnesota game ($22) and close to face value (Syracuse 9/2, $15)to pay any parking fees at Huskie Stadium.

Which leaves you with tickets for the NU/WMU game on 9/14 (when NIU plays at Idaho) and you can just come and hate on both teams 05-stirthepot

Every Huskie fan I've talked to will be pulling for P.J. and the Broncos to win this one.

Whatever, for those who are 03-hissyfit about the Huskie home schedule I have just shown you a way to get your Huskie tickets for free and be able to see WMU play NU. So stop your 03-weeping and be an entrepreneur and get your tickets free. Of course you'll also end up boosting NU's ticket sales but deal with it.

Bought them all? There's a few more tickets available in Ryan Field than I have the bankroll for but 1 pair definitely.

Agreed. The conference does not care about attendance. It's all about exposure.

And while Shelley is thrilled for the students with the weekday games, Athletics seems clueless as to what it's like for some of us to travel large distances on a weeknight. But, on the positive side, at least we have 3 Saturday games. There was initially the possibility for only 2 Saturday games. That would have certainly put a big dent in season ticket sales.

Maybe that IS why we only got 2 weeknight home games.

We have no control over it. It's up to ESPN. If ESPN tells us we play 3 weeknight games, that's what we will do.
