UTEP fans....
Lets talk about your new QB transfer from Aggie.

I thought I read that hes going to be eligible to play next year?

It has been reported locally that he is eligible to play immediately and has two years of eligibility left.

That's correct. He is on track to earn his degree this summer and can play this coming season at UTEP while working on his masters. He adds a good deal to the QB corp for us and may have the inside track to start. We'll see.

1 senior, Carson Meger. (some starting experience)
1 junior, Jameill Showers from A&M.
1 soph, Blaire Sullivan. (started late last season)
1 redshirt freshman, Garrett Simpson.
2 true freshmen, Ryan Metz and Mack Leftwich.

Well maybe 3/4 as good but actually I'd rather that he turn out to be like Russell Wilson when he transferred from NC St to Wisconsin. That worked out real well. 04-cheers

Which one? They were all awful.

I think you start the kid right away and roll the dice. If he was good enough to get recruited at Aggie and got a year under his belt with Kliff hes gonna know how to run and offense.

It would be nice to see UTEP field a good team next year.

A co-worker of mine is an A&M alumn. He has followed Showers, and said the kid has an incredibly accurate arm, and folks in Aggie land were looking forward to his career at A&M.

I hope they are right.

The forecast for UTEP is sunny with a chance for Showers.

I sure hope he doesn't bomb.

You know, it will be lose-lose situation. ANd it will really apply to all future CUSA schools.

If we have a good season, it will be because the defectors aren't here. If we have a bad seaon, it will be because the conference as a whole is weak.

Guess the same could be thrown at Cincy, UConn, and USF.

you guys have always been on the outpost and it sucks...nothing but respect for UTEP and would like nothing better for you guys to get back to playing great football...

Yeah, and what good will that do. We'll have a great team and then play you guys with a Brett Favre lookalike and come tumbling down. You and Brett messed up a good thing years back.

I stilllllllllll remember. 05-mafia
