tranny, i think the problem is that for the first time there is no carrot dangling in front of us. we have no reason to believe we are ever going to get past the mid-major level

well not everyone on this board thinks what u are saying. i think our football is going to get better cause of our coach. our basketball will always be good as long as u dont have tic price or johnnie jones destroying the program. the conf. is better as long as cincy and uconn stay put. if they vamp the scene than we need our athletic director to step up in a big way.

Or, we can go back to CUSA and have our annual battles with ODU and Charlotte.

We can be more than we are. Will we be as regarded like current BCS programs? Maybe not. But we can be better off than we have been. That is the goal. This move is not what we thought it would be last year yet it is still a step up from CUSA. If we work at this, we can be ready for the next move. I think we are not done but only if we keep working at it.

All the gnashing of teeth and "woe is us" is fan driven background noise to what is actually going on. In the end, regardless of the situation, we just have to rely on the people in power to actively pursue a vision to increase our image and the program's national perception: in short, we've been hammered with bad news after supposedly reaching the promise land and now its time to take the lemons we got - and make lemonade. Its the old adage, " Its not so much what happens to you in life - its how you react and deal with it".

I am of the belief that we are much better off than if we had just stayed in CUSA. I respect others disparate opinions but the intensive whining and dooms day scenarios are way overdone over the top.
