In the last 6 seasons, WMU is 2-7-2 against MSU (0-3 in East Lansing).

WMU's last win in East Lansing was a 2-0 shut out on February 17, 2007.

If we want that 5% chance of winning the CCHA? Obviously, yes.

If we want to preserve a 2 or 3 seed in the NCAA's? Probably.

If we want to make the NCAA's as an at-large? Probably not, even 1 win would go a long way in preserving that.

I'm sure they do, but I really hope our players recognize what a big weekend it is.

I too feel a must win/must sweep attitude this weekend. 9th in pairwise is not really safe in my opinion...especially with teams behind us surging OR a team from AH/ECAC winning the conf tournament other than Quinny or Niagara.

FYI, I will be at the games this weekend so my updates will be slim

Bad news: In home games I attend, WMU is 0-1 (Friday, St. Lawrence).
Good news: In road games I attend, WMU is 1-0 (Friday, Michigan).

Hopefully my presence does not affect this weekend's outcomes.

My concerns about this series

Perhaps I'm making too much of this and there are many factors, but our M.O. of playing much of the time in the other teams' zone,and outshooting them badly has seemingly disappeared against the better defensive clubs we've faced in the past few weeks. It worked against the weaker teams, but not lately against the contenders.

We're getting outshot and playing too much in our own zone.

MSU has had our number for awhile. That worries me as MSU doesn't really have much to play for. For the Spartans, beating Western would be like CMU's annual situation - we suck but HEY - we beat Western!!

I really hope that the guys are focused and ready. We need a win tonight.
