I don't know why they keep quoting this guy, he says the same thing every interview.
We already know the Big 12 can't create value on its own, without a conference network.

So...FSU and Clemson are waiting on the outcome of the Maryland-Rutgers/ACC exit fee settlement.

Yeah he just comes out and repeats this a couple times a month. Nothing to see here...well the article does completely shoot down the chances of BYU, Cincy and Boise getting invites but that's no surprise

wow I didn't realize he was a lying ****:
“But we’re distributing, on a per-institution basis, the largest amount of money in college athletics right now, and that’s going to ramp up significantly over the next 12 years.
Last year-
Big 12 was at 19.2
Big Ten was at 24.5ish I believe
seems like he doesn't know his numbers all that well at all.. or wants to lie about it..

The Big 12 refusing to even return to its namesake is like a person refusing to upgrade from an outdated traditional land-line to a cell phone. Of course, a mobile phone is technically unnecessary, too. But, it does have benefits.
I know the Big 12 wants perfect national brands like Miami and FSU-if not UF and Ohio State University. But, to stubbornly stay at 10 with just the state of Texas and very small states is a actually a bigger gamble than adding a couple old Big East members.

Oh so you can get added, right? I see what you did there...

Even before it happened, I suggested-on this website-Rutgers would be a great addition for the Big 10-even though I knew RU was still in USF's conference.

I read somewhere the Big 12 had a higher than normal payout because of the distribution of the exit fees paid by members that left.
Normally, the Big 12 would be #2.

The other thing to keep in mind is that going forward, the B12 is going to be splitting its BCS and Sugar Bowl money 10 ways instead of 14 like the SEC, B1G and ACC. That's going to be a minimum of $8 million/school for B12 members as compared to $6.5 million +/- for B1G, SEC and P12 members and $5 million for ACC members. Adding schools only makes that number smaller.

WRONG! The Meatball never had The BEast at the top of the per school payoff list. He never even got close to #5...

The Sugar Bowl money is reportedly $80 million/year, and even if that's $80 million of pure profit, it has to be split between both leagues. If the B12 gets half, that's $4 million/B12 school. If each "contract conference" school also gets about $2.5 million/year from the playoff and more if their conference has a team in the playoff, that's at least $6.5 million/B12 school.
Pac schools get a bit less only b/c their $40 million/year from the Rose is divided 12 ways rather than 10. SEC and B1G should be getting more, even with a 14-way split, because they get Orange Bowl money in addition to Sugar or Rose money and playoff money.

So, little movement for the next several years. B1G, Big 12, SEC, Pac 12 all set, and they'll leave the ACC alone. MWC all set. Maybe nBE adds one, and who cares about the rest?
