Where is the outrage?
They are dedicating a statue of Rosa Parks today. I blame Obama for this. He is trying to create racial warfare in this country! 03-lmfao

RE: Where is the outrage?
Why would anyone protest against someone standing up in the face of unjust laws?

Good thing she's dead, or you'd be adding her to a terrorist watch group, Robs.

Rosa was selected by the NAACP to be the poster child, it was all staged.

http://www.core-online.org/History/colvin.htm
E.D. Nixon, then a leader of the Montgomery chapter of the NAACP, had been waiting for a test case to challenge bus segregation and vowed to help Colvin after her father posted bail. But then came the second-guessing: Colvin’s father mowed lawns; her mother was a maid. Churchgoing people, but they lived in King Hill, the poorest section of Montgomery. The police, who took her to the city hall and then jail, also accused the teenager of spewing curse words, which Colvin denied, saying that in fact the obscenities were leveled at her (“The intimidation, the ridicule,” she often says now)

Some black leaders believed she was too young, and too dark-skinned to be an effective symbol of injustice for the rest of the nation. Then, as local civil rights leaders continued to debate whether her case was worth contesting, that summer came the news that Colvin was pregnant — by a married man.

Yeah, it wasn't a spontaneous act of defiance, but it was still an act of defiance, and that took grit.

Of course, here in the 21st century, she'd be branded a terrorist.

Spontaneous or not, it was gutsy, and necessary, and we are all better off today for it. I just than God it happened, that it happened as peacefully as it did, and that we are beyond that today.

5 Important People Who Were Screwed Out of History Books

Elizabeth Jennings Graham insisted on her right to ride a horse-drawn street car in New York City
Still, Graham was ancient history by the time Parks came around. Plus, New York City is no Montgomery, Alabama. But oh, wait -- 15-year-old Claudette Colvin totally lived in Montgomery, Alabama, took the exact same buses as Parks and was also arrested for giving up her seat nine months before Rosa. As was 18-year-old Mary Louise Smith six weeks before Parks' arrest. Same buses. Same city. Same story. What did Colvin and Smith get for their troubles? Not much more than a rap sheet.
So why have we never heard of them?

Because Colvin was a knocked-up teenager and Smith's dad was rumored to have a drinking problem. Rosa Parks, on the other hand, looked like a 19th-century school-marm:
Parks, on the other hand, was perfect. Colvin's own mother cited Parks', um, lighter skin color and likable personality as reasons why she should be the one

Yeah... I don't understand why there would be outrage, Robert.

Staged or not makes no difference in the context. This wasn't something done without risk, and it was done to accomplish something "right".

While symbolic, there are a lot more people behind racial equity than just her. She may have the name recognition, but she couldn't have done it by herself.

Who will be our Rosa Parks and stand up to our own government?
Where is the outrage in the black community about throwing their money down a rabbit hole to a bunch of Obama's friends and campaign money givers?

She was great because she just wanted equal treatment. She wasn't demanding preferential treatment, which many are doing today.

Nope. Of course the racists of the board haven't posted yet and suspect there are a couple of posters who might not be totally honest.

Lol, because some people have chosen not to comment in your insane, asinine thread attempting to troll right wingers, it makes those who haven't commented "racist"?

Jesus you are a f.cking moron, even by left wing loon standards. I'm going to send you a rope, a ladder, a straight razor and a bunch of powerful prescription drugs in the mail. Choose wisely and do what's right, remove yourself from the gene pool and make this world a much better place.

That, or they don't fit your simple-minded stereotypes.
