Our Lack Of A Front-Line Will Keep Us From Winning
It is hard for a team to rely on shooting guards to carry them.

RE: Our Lack Of A Front-Line Will Keep Us From Wining
I've been saying all year, I have yet to be convinced we have good rebounding bigs on this team. Other teams offensive rebounding is our kryptonite. I think what’s even more important than avoiding a slow playing team in the tourney, is a team that rebounds well.

If Shaq n Black could keep out of foul trouble, we'd be much better.

Yep. Our bigs have to learn to defend without fouling. It's plagued us for years now

Every one of them jump up for the block at the shot fake---and usually all at the same time.

Maybe Josh could work out a deal whereby the big guys are only allowed to leave the floor for a block attempt AFTER they have five [or three or two or whatever] rebounds, etc, etc!

This thread needs a better title, we've already "won" 24 games.

That's why a lot of coaches recruit kids who have been taught great fundamentals and play smart/instinctively.

Keith Lee, Lorenzen would be perfect examples. No bad habits.

Black can't get out of his own way right now, Shaq comes and goes but let's give him the benefit of being a freshman. I like his game.

I also think the refs picks on them early in the game. Ridiculous that Shaq had to sit out so early in the first half, for whatever reason.

black is too busy pushing off with one hand on rebound attempts. go up with both hands and get the rebound.

I am OK with Shaq because he is a freshman and still learning... but Tarik??? That dude is a freaking junior and last night was way out of his league... He is what he is, a limited basketball player with lack of fundamentals..

But guys who don't move their feet and play hard all the time will stay in foul trouble....but in fairness they do get a lot of fouls when our guards gamble and get beat down the lane..they are just not that good and I for one am ready for Mr. Williams to retire

I really like Shaq and his upside. But, I'm beginning to wonder if his trash talk is bringing more attention to him from the refs.

About the only thing that went right last night was the surge of 3s in the 2nd half and a couple sweet dunks. Our interior play and overall team hustle cost us that game. It was excruciating to watch, but the sun came up this morning and I still love my Tigers. We're much better than what we played last night, still think we could surprise in the ncaa's. GTG!

Its sad to see because Tarik can be a monster inside if ever truly wanted to be. He has shown signs of it from time to time but his window is really closing. 6'9 @ 262 compared to Taylor @ 6-8 215 and taylor last night dominated the boards and the points. As a experienced player this shouldn't be happening.

stick with soccer b, let the rest of us talk bball.
Joe fed the ball to Tarik a few times, and he made Xavier pay.
They went away from that for whatever reason.

I seem to remember Black being better from the line the past two years than he is this season. Am I crazy?

He shot an avg of 59% his first two seasons. This year he's at 48.4% (10.5% lower)
