You don't win many games shooting like that from the line. That is where this game was lost.

That's what I was thinking. When you are playing crappy, you have to get points at the line.

A whole bunch. A lot of points were left there tonight.

Really? He was the reason we were taking a foul shot at the end. He actually made the first one, better than what a couple of other players did. Let's face it, tonight was a choke job. Too much attention, in the national spotlight, with a chance to prove something and it was too much.

Missed dunks, layups, and foul shots. A recipe for a loss. This was a bad one. No other way to say it.

The inability of our upper classmen to be prepared for this game speaks volumes to me. As long as these players are playing, I don't see Memphis doing much when the pressure comes(see NCAA). What ever "it" is, they just don't have "it".

Kudos to OP. That's the game in a nutshell. Some really terrible calls. DJ was knocked out of bounds when the thru the ball of a Tiger player. Should have been a foul. Instead Xavier scores. We can't blame the refs for the loss though. We left 12 points on the free throw line.

More than 12 with the number of front ends of 1-1s that were missed too.

The sad thing is our guards shot 6 FTs all game...

That tells you everything you need to know about their aggressiveness. They have to attack and get to the FT line...

6FTs by your backcourt is just plain pitiful...JJ should have fouled Redford out or been at the rack all night long.

6-18 from the free throw line...
CC bad alley-oop pass, JJ misses easy layup, and Geron misses easy dunk...

Just cannot win when you are struggling to score and give away the free ones. And like others have said many of the free throws were front end one and one misses and our guards only shot 6 free throws all night.

It's hard to support a team that shoots FTs that poorly.

I can't remember the last game I missed, but I think I'm gonna have to take a break until the tournament. Horribly frustrating how we totally tanked this one.

I agree free throws were one of several glaring reasons we lost. But don't forget the three missed slam dunks, the countless missed offensive rebounds in the first half, and combined 1-11 shooting by Tarik and DJ.

We only lost by TWO points. With just a slight improvement in one of these, we'd be sweating out a close win!

Because of one game? Didn't they recently have a game where they were 100% from the line?
