I liked the tops of the tourney uniforms last year... Hated the shorts.
Now it looks like the shorts design is creeping onto the tops. Damn...

Those uni's last year were a good luck charm. I don't care what they look like, they should start wearing them now.

The old uniforms weren't broken, yet they decided to fix them... and that resulted in these eyesores.

Agree completely. The numbers and names are there for the officials and the fans--they're totally unreadable in the arena and on TV. It's a classic case of form over function. Hopefully, with a new Adidas (or other) contract there will be a fresh new design next season.

I dont know why you would have to defend these uniforms to anyone. It seems like every college basketball game I watched this season, and It didnt matter if someone was wearing Nike or Adidas uniforms, The color of the names was the same color as the actual jersey.

I'll never get the fascination with people hating uniforms. Who cares? The uniform is to get recruits. If this is what adidas says they like I'm inclined to believe them. I know who the players on my team are. I don't need to see names/numbers I also couldn't care less on what they wear as long as they WIN.

In addition to luring recruits with edgy uniforms, the other purpose of alternate uniforms is to sell them to the fans.
If the fans don't like them, they won't buy them.

All good points and I can't vehemently disagree with any. Still, I believe UC has had some of the best basketball uniforms in the college game beginning with the trend setting Nike Michael Jordan gear in the 90s. Black, red and white is the best color palette in sports; these charcoal on black aren't a new design; just a monochrome version of the previous black uni that had white lettering and red trim. With UC's tradition, they should add a classy retro uniform for a few special games. Those throwbacks from the '61 and '62 championship teams used the prior two years were excellent. Priority one: make the NCAA and they can wear whatever Adidas provides!

NCAA teams sponsored by adidas will wear short-sleeve uniforms in the NCAA Tournament.

The Warriors recently beat the Spurs with them, so maybe they'll be another postseason good luck charm.

God. I have visions of Evansville basketball from the 1980's.

For the record, I don't need to see the names and numbers either. It's just the principle of the matter: The names and numbers are there, but they're completely unreadable unless you have the right angle... I don't need to see them, it just bothers me that they are in fact there, but almost invisible. What's the point?

I really liked what we had last season, especially the black throwbacks the team wore... why change something that was working so well to this charcoal-on-black "modern" stuff??

I'm just old-fashioned I guess...

For all I care the team should wear Uniforms like this, as long as they can score baskets.
