Memphis just lost so there could be a chance to move up with wins this week. There was also mention of Akron during the Memphis / Xavier game. Talk of them making some noise come tourney time.

Indiana also just lost so Gonzaga is the likely new #1. A mid-major at the top of the poll, wow. Hopefully Dambrot sticks around and keeps building the Akron program. No reason why they can't consistently be a top 25 team. The MAC desperately need a hoops flagship or two. Kent had a shot but seems to have faced too much coaching turnover to be that program, at least for now.

Great news for Akron, nice to see them getting some love around the nation. Another good story around college hoops is SLU, they've been great despite the tragic loss of Rick Majerus.

Akron entered the season as the 9th youngest team in college basketball. Regardless of what happens tonight, I'm fairly certain this won't be our last top 25 showing over the next few years.

Loads of talent returning across the board in the MAC next year. Some of us will hang on to our coaches. Don't count those chickens....
