MyBB MBB going to Greece next fall
Ryan Autullo ‏@AutulloBlade
UT men's basketball team will tour Greece from Aug. 5-16. Will play 3-4 games.

This will be perfect timing - next year could be THE year for the men's team, with Pearson, Smith, Holliday, and Wonnell being seniors. It will get them a few extra practices and games before the season starts.

Great job by athletic department making up for team's lack of post-season tourney play.

With 7 new players on the team next season (3 Freshmen, 1 Redshirt Freshman, and 3 Transfers), this will be a perfect opportunity for them to bond. Also having those extra practices and exhibition games during the summer should also further their development both individually and as a team.

Great job by Coach K and your athletic dept. to schedule this trip. WMU went to Europe last summer. It allowed them to get extra practice time (10?) during the summer. I really believe it has paid dividends this year for us.

No doubt Toledo will benefit big time.

Every four years. As stated, since rules were changed allowing incoming freshmen to go on the trips, it's a great way to get in extra practices (10). Considering the limited practices the team had this year, and all the new players, it will be a great way to begin the season.

I just wonder what misdeed a certain Miami fan will accuse us of now. Maybe the coaches will think of daring to do the unthinkable and allow their wives to accompany them. Or if not, the coach's clearly left them at home to sexually harass the flight attendants. Or maybe we're flying to Greece to meet Jimmy the Greek so we can shave some
points. Time will tell.

Don't give them ammo they're not imaginative enough to come up with themselves, lol.

I did the "Athens" thing well, because I was in the area and figured had to do the touristy thing. It was pre-Olympics so the place needed a good scrubbing but walking into the Panathenaic Stadium!!! I mean, the Parthenon was okay but the stadium! The view from up there and the feeling of competition that flooded me. I took more from there than any other part of Athens.

And aren't the Greeks crazy for b-ball? It should be a great experience.

Somehow though, I've got a video playing in my head of Americans getting into a brew-ha-ha at a b-ball game not so long ago in Greece. Anybody else? Hmm, maybe that was China. So many places. So many fights.

From UTRockets.com: Rocket Men’s Basketball Program to Visit Historic Greece in August

August 5-16, and they will play 4 games. They will get 10 practices.
