I like JP and feel he could have made a difference in some games. I want to see UAB win just as much as anyone and want the best players on the field but I really questioned some of the personnel decisions last season. QB was one of them. I hope McGee has a little more self reflection and less stubbornness going into his sophomore season.

I think those are hard calls to make for any coach. Not disagreeing with you, but he sees the kid more linearly and progressively. Most of us see these kids as snapshots and fan snapshots at that. McGee had his reasons for his decisions. And, he could also completely agree that he left him in when he shouldn't have... Again, hard calls/choices and hindsight is the proverbial "20/20..."

Just typing about football is getting me prematurely excited about the season. I need to focus on baseball!!!

Go Blazers!!!

McKee should be in his mid-20s. Hopefully his maturity and experience will pay off for us & him.

That makes two last-minute signings of grown men (with the MP flipped on signing day). Perhaps there is a need in the locker room.

I hope this is the case. I know all recruits don't always pan out, but if this guy was good enough to be on Tennessee's roster, there has to be something there. We'll find out soon enough, but I'm guessing he didn't come to UAB to compete to be the backup for two seasons.

Is there also a chance that McGee recruited him at Arkansas, and the two have a history?

It's definitely an interesting wrinkle to the offseason. I can't wait to see what McGee has in store for this season.(I still think season 3 is where we'll really see things come together, but this season shouldn't be the lost cause last season was)

I would like to think Austin Brown would come out and win the job because he started pretty much all of last year and he knows the offense, reads etc....but because he was SO BAD last year 15 tds 12 ints it is anyones guess. We may have the worst group of QB's (minus So. Miss) in the league.

Didn't Gene Bartow once say he would start five quarterbacks if he could. 03-lmfao

And I would have transferred too, once Tyler Bray signed on as a recruit.

RE: Another New Commit?
Just a thought about transfers - since Craft went to a JUCO (not a 4 year program) what are the chances he might return to UAB to play his last 2 years for the Blazers baseball team? or even go out for football?

I would say Slim to none unless coaching change. That kid really loved UAB though. I think He was asked to come to W Kentucky and play both sports after OC left.
