Request for EMUJeremy and CMadler
The next time you're able to ask Murphy questions, could you please ask him to describe his offensive philosophy? i've heard him say that he prefers a slower offense, but that's it. i'm really curious about how he describes his offensive gameplan.

i'd also love to know about his philosophy on which players get minutes. it changes every single game. he shuffles players in and out of the rotation between games the same way Ramsey would shuffle players in and out on every play. it seems bizarre to me.

RE: Request for EMUJeremy and CMadler
It's defense first.

Murphy talked a fair bit about this after the Buffalo game (and of course, that's the one post-game press conference that's not on YouTube...I'll check and see if I have an audio recording of it). The salient quote is "if you're not playing defense, you're not playing." In other words, he'll let a few missed shots or offensive errors slide, if a player is getting the job done defensively. But drop a defensive assignment, and that player will be sitting on the bench ASAP.

Also, defense fuels the offense. The goal is to have steals and blocked shots that lead to fast-break opportunities and mismatches.

What I don't know is what he wants the half-court offense to look like. Jeremy or someone else might have more insight about that.

I have noticed that and someone confirmed that to me.

I'm not a fan of the quick hook, but 80 - 85% through the season Murph has no tolerance.
