Other than that - I am at a near loss for words to express my sentiments re: where program is at and if it ever goes forward.

As a fan of old school rock and roll and the Huskies, I just wanna say "We aint gonna take it any more."

I've been there and done that. Old age is a *****, isn't it?

As I recently mentioned last Friday to my opthamologist for my semi annual check , "Doc, there is not much about aging I am liking."

He replied:
"Remember what Mae West once said:
" Aging is not for sissies."

Doc( Hawkeye alum) added : "Every morning I awake and look into the mirror before shaving - I see more and more of my father."

You will need to sit back and relax regarding the basketball team. We're not going anywhere for quite a while. If you ever go to a game, do what I do: stare at the Silverettes, stare at the cheerleaders, clap to the band, high five Victor E., patronize the concession stands, patronize the bathrooms, take a nap, be prepared to be depressed when you leave.

while certain things about aging certainly do suck, it is a helluva lot better than the alternative.

Because of the underline on the thread title I confused the E for an F and thought we got a 1-1 in football with FIU.

Please resume your basketball conversation...

Do they still go overboard with checking tickets?

No. It has been quite pleasant. It sort of stopped when Gordon's tenure did.

I have my own seating security. If I find someone sitting in my seat, I just tell them that my arse has been parked in that seat all season. Then they look at my arse and run like hell screaming.

Having said this, none of you had better be sitting in my seat this weekend! I will get there early and leave an unmistakable residue on my seat.

Do they still charge for parking at NIU home basketball games?
If so, how much and whose pocket does it go into?

Yes, it's $5. I don't know who it goes to.

Why do they even think peole will come out to watch this garbage. They are not a team that looks like they are even into the game at all. It is basically an unwatchable product.

If the Huskies are interested and putting out an effort, they are entertaining to watch, the only problem is that effort is not there most of the time. Whether that is because of it being a young team, coaching, or a combination, I have no idea.

It's actually pretty simple: There is no D1 talent there. When you can't make baskets in a game called basketball, that's a problem. There has been no improvement, and these kids are not motivated. I may not waste my time Saturday night and just go to the Grotto instead.

Yes, it's $5. I don't know who it goes to.

I believe it goes to Springfield to help fund the state debt.... I'm sorry, I couldn't resist.

The Grotto might have a bigger crowd than the basketball game, and everyone at the Grotto should go home feeling satisfied.

7huskie6, the score isn't much different. The difference is Chicago St. has 8 of the 9 guys that played for them were juniors or seniors. NIU had 2 of the 11 guys that played for them were juniors and 0 seniors. EIU also had several juniors and seniors. I still felt NIU did not play hard and deserved to lose.

I don't care how old you are. You're good at basketball or you aren't. I gave tonight about 5 minutes of my time and was instantly reminded why I stopped watching weeks ago. On the bright side, it's given me a ton of time to catch up on some good TV shows and reading material
