The San Diego Chargers used to play in a stadium named after someone that the city admired a great deal, I can't remember the guy's name now, but it was taken down and replaced with some corporate bull**** name. I just don't see how one's legacy can be so easily discarded like that.

Seriously, though, I hate sometimes when the name of a prominent and beloved figure has his or her name removed from a stadium and replaced by a corporation's name...(Exhibit A: Joe Robbie & Robert F. Kennedy)...I don't care how much $$$$ is offered UAB, anything that already has Gene Bartow's name on it is off limits, & would probably be met with maximum anger and resistance by the majority of Blazer Nation if such an atrocity were to take place here.

RFK is still RFK. FedExField is a brand new stadium.

Yup. DC United in MLS use RFK as does the US Men's national team from time to time.

If you hate that corporate logo dont watch the nba in the future.

To my knowledge, they've put off that vote until later. If it is in fact approved, that's a big change because the NBA hasn't even let Adidas put their marks on the jerseys...and they MAKE them.

I thought Southern Miss was the name of a pastry company like Little Debby. Who woulda known it was a university.
