RE: What if Dept.: Corporations pays to change school's name to their name
The San Diego Chargers used to play in a stadium named after someone that the city admired a great deal, I can't remember the guy's name now, but it was taken down and replaced with some corporate bull**** name. I just don't see how one's legacy can be so easily discarded like that.

Seriously, though, I hate sometimes when the name of a prominent and beloved figure has his or her name removed from a stadium and replaced by a corporation's name...(Exhibit A: Joe Robbie & Robert F. Kennedy)...I don't care how much $$$$ is offered UAB, anything that already has Gene Bartow's name on it is off limits, & would probably be met with maximum anger and resistance by the majority of Blazer Nation if such an atrocity were to take place here.

RFK is still RFK. FedExField is a brand new stadium.

@aTxTiger: Thanks, man! You mean, RFK stadium is still up and being used? Wow, I swear I didn't know that. I'll tell something else that burns my biscuits. That corporate logo on the front of some WNBA team jerseys! I really, really hate that ****!!!

Yup. DC United in MLS use RFK as does the US Men's national team from time to time.

If you hate that corporate logo dont watch the nba in the future.

Are you serious!!!!? The NBA is buying into this bull****, too???! It's bad enough looking at Golden State's new jerseys, but that will not set well with me if NBA players become "running, jumping billboards!"

Just as Starbucks, Wally world, Dell, Intel, and many others have found out, the law of diminishing returns is just around the corner.

Oil companies are the only safe ones now...they can charge whatever they want w/o repercussions.

To my knowledge, they've put off that vote until later. If it is in fact approved, that's a big change because the NBA hasn't even let Adidas put their marks on the jerseys...and they MAKE them.

I posted this already, but Louisville has some fat fans. Their sorority pictures must look like Lane Bryant ads. This is based on the fine-from-the-neck-up beauties I've seen them bring into MM Roberts.

Well fact is that Mississippi has the title of most overweight population in the nation, and until it is no longer the leader, then it is a title earned.
