It's about time someone in the media call out the hacks and their herd mentality when it comes to the future Big East.

Dude, Dan Wolken is a hack. Just because he is on the U of M's side for the most part doesn't mean he isn't a hack.

You remind me of cigarettes. I try to put them down but I occasionally pick one up even though I know they are going to kill me.

But, I do have a question: Other than your self have you ever liked anyone? Or anything?

I like Dominique Dawes. I want to lay in her hair.

And I don't leave that lingering smell in her hair like a cigarette.

Wolken is one of the few sports media members I trust. While in Memphis, he avoided the dreaded "homer" that would have impeded advancement by going overboard on his criticism. Now I pay attention because he delivers good and bad news in an objective manner.

I doubt that there would be more than one mid-week game per season as a general rule. The majority of our fans live within 30 miles of the stadium and have little excuse for not attending. Hopefully most of those who live further away can take a day or two of vacation when necessary. I have noticed that for national ESPN games there usually is a special excitement in the air. I usually take the afternoon off from work in order to get a bit of tailgating in before the game.

Bottom line, the exposure is very good for recruiting and it is important for us to put on our best face for the nation. To a very large extent, Tiger football will be what WE make it.

Aside from his dumb radio stunts, I've always held Wolken in pretty high regard as sports writers go. That's not saying a ton, but he's right more often than he's wrong and has good communication skills.

I pretty much agree with his article's premise. I hate ESPN, but being in their pocket is way better than being in their path.

His knowledge and experience of Memphis is a position of strength.

Talk about what you know.

But 90% of us don't know that...

I second this.
