Not afraid of 'em. They don't have Dri Archer on their team.

Purdue feeling pretty good about getting a W vs NIU as they have designated that as 2013 Homecoming.

Since we beat them last time, probably a nice way to get a good draw for a non-B10 home game, nicely played.

5 is also the number of returning starters they have on the O side of the ball, which means they should struggle to score especially since marve & terbush (qb's) are gone. They do return 8 on the D side and played halfway decent D last year but the Huskies ought to be favored.

How well does our d play against the bubble screen? I got a hold of Purdue's playbook and the only plays are bubble screen right and bubble screen left.

Does that 5 include their #1 returning WR who has been kicked off the team?

Which almost guarantees an 11am kickoff.

It is logical in scheduling. In order of appearance their home schedule is...

Indiana St
Notre Dame
NIU
Nebraska
Ohio St
Iowa
Illinois

Good point. I just checked their last 4 years and all their HC games were 11AM.

This home schedule is billed as the best ever for Purdue.

We are mentioned with ND, Nebraska and Ohio St

...Iowa and Illinois are not.

This season's home schedule is arguably the best in school history. It includes 2012 national champion runner-up and intrastate rival Notre Dame (Sept. 14), Orange Bowl participant Northern Illinois (Sept. 28) and Big Ten Conference powers Nebraska (Oct. 12) and Ohio State (Nov. 2).

I think most B1G HC games have a 11am kickoff.

I'm really excited about this being Purdue's homecoming. Both teams will have a lot to play for.

Agreed, plus the HC factor means their will be lots and lots of Whores running around campus!

Look at the Boilers! using that Northern Illinois Death Machine to hype their 2013 home schedule.

Get ready, Coach Hazell. Jordan Lynch, Ken Bishop, and Jimmie Ward are about to invade your friggin' nightmares again.

Good question, not sure, the site I found the info on does not specifically say who they include in the numbers given. I do know this, their starting qb at least on opening day will be Rob Henry who is a 6th year senior who has never been able to finish a whole season healthy when he's started from opening day. So he may not actually be the starter on HC, if may be an untested QB and Henry is the only one on the roster who has taken a snap for Purdue before. So you have to like those odds.

We also know that Iowa will be starting an untested qb on opening day as Vandenberg was their Full time starter the last 2 years and hardly missed a snap. When you are playing against teams who lack experience at QB and are thin at RB & WR you have to feel optimistic about winning when your QB, Oline and RB are veterans

But, don't forget, they are B1G. All they need to do is show up! 03-shhhh
