The foul wasn't a hard foul but Watson didn't even attempt to go after the ball and just grabbed Goodwin by the shoulders. It was, by the rule, an intentional foul.

I beg to differ. He made an “attempt” at the ball and then hit Goodwin's shoulder. Those kinds of fouls happen almost every game and don't get called an intentional.

Sorry, but what I saw on the video was an intentional foul Watson made out of frustration. Dumb move on his part.

I didn't deny that in my post. I think I said Memphis was playing great. But that bogus intentional foul has completely rattled our team.

Plus, why does Memphis always shoot well against us? If they would just shoot like they do against other conference teams, we'd have a chance.

I will start off by saying I have never been a big Watson fan...last year he was too selfish, bad passes, totally out of control driving to the bucket, bad fouls...etc...

Tyndall has made him a better player, but the stupid fouls he makes continually is unnerving...the refs have called this game perfectly. MEM is just whipping our arse!

So despite the RPI, USM now needs to win the conference tournament, right?

You'd think they'd be more respectful, considering we beat them last year with a team that wasn't as good as this year's version.

According to some here yes....IMO, if we make the CUSA final and lose to MEM, and only MEM, we are in or should be.

Southern Miss looking like a NIT. They are done as far as at-large chances. Unless Memphis slips in the tournament CUSA is a one bid league this year. Memphis looking like a sweet sixteen caliber team. They have been impressive.
