When was it and what was it in?

I'll give you somewhat of a break on the year.

Excluding debate teams, medical achievements, etc. Just talking sports.

ummm... 2008, The ladies' synchronized swimming team.

Ok. Now I will have to look that up as well.

I don't think so, but that isn't what I was thinking of.

The synchronized swimming team finished #5 at its best, I believe.

Golf and Synchronized Swimming

In 1992, U.S. News and World Report named UAB as the #1 up-and-coming university in the US.

Named the #1 AIDS research university by some publication back in the 90s as well.

It appears we have had it happen at least 2 times.

1 was in golf when GMAC was ranked #1. There was one other, unless someone can show where synchronized swimming was even another one.

Belief

I believe that a men's double tennis team was ranked #1, either at the end of a year or at least during a year.

I cannot find any instance of the men's tennis team being ranked in the media guide that I am watching.

Also, synchronized swimming ranked between 3rd & 5th at the end of the season.

No mention of being ranked #1 during the season.

Womens Tennis when Mirela Vladulscu played?

Correct. That was the other one. It was around 97 or 98 when she was ranked #1 during the year.

She lost either in the quarter finals or semi-finals for the championship.

I don't think the prize was that grat anyway.

Mock trial has won the National Championship several times for what it's worth.
