RE: SI story on MWC vs. nBE going forward...
Good informative and analytical article. The conclusion is reassuring: "....in all likelihood, the Big East will still be regarded as the sixth-best conference...."

It's funny how things have changed....
When the BCS was formed, the 6 leagues invited each had at least one "bell-cow" football team. The ACC's "bell-cow" was Florida State, and the Big East's was Miami. The conventional wisdom at the time was that the Big East & ACC were invited because you couldn't have a legitimate national championship without the Seminoles or the Hurricanes.
Now, the presence of a "bell-cow" football team doesn't strengthen a league, it destabilizes it.
I imagine that, had Houston not completely fallen off the map this year (after losing Kevin Sumlin), we would be talking about them joining the Big 12.

Since A&M left and TCU came in, I'm not sure that Texas, Texas Tech or Baylor want to share any more money inside Texas.
SMU, with more money than Davey Crockett, is still paying for that death penalty.
