Tennis Thread!
Here is some good news on the women's tennis team. Caitlin O'Gara was named Big East Player of the Week.

I currently coach Caitlin's brother who was part of our high school team that played for the Division I State Championship last May. She has another brother, who is now a UC student, that also made it to the State Tennis tournament during his days with us in Springboro.

I love Tennis. Congrats for her.

What is the best tennis school in the area?

I wonder where tennis was played on UC's campus when the eventual Wimbledon winner played there?

In Cincinnati - Division I (boys) should come down to Mason and Sycamore. State champs in Doubles came from Mason. Never count out St. X either. Division II - Cincinnati Country Day should be the top team. They represented the Southwest District at the Final Four.

Springboro represented the SW District (DI) in the Final Four last year. We defeated Toledo St. John in the semi's before falling to Upper Arlington in the final. I have my top 3 boys back. Just got to figure out a lineup to beat Mason again.

From a few vintage photos that I have seen, it appears that there may have been a few courts on campus in the early 50's, possibly where CCM sits today. Some of Trabert's pictures from UC Yearbooks has him on clay which means UC could have played at the Cincinnati Tennis Club where Tony was a member. Don't know for sure.
