I don't get why some people would be excited about getting Nevada-Reno for a 1-1. We should expect to at least get 1-1s with our peers. We should get excited about getting a 1-1 with lower level AQ teams (in my humble opinion) and be ecstatic to get 1-1s with upper level AQ teams. We should NEVER sign a 1-1 with an FCS school and should consider that a major disappointment.

Just my 2 pennies.

Only ball state sigbs 1-1s with fcs teams. But yes I agree. I would be very 'happy' about one with nevada, as I was about our tulsa deal, but I don't look at them as a 'holy cow I'm glad we scored that deal!'

I agree. I like Tulsa, and would like Nevada, because they are 'new' teams for UT. And they could be a good excuse for a trip.

Not overly excited about Nevada, but for NIU it would be better than most opponents we've had at home recently.

Nevada also announced today a home-and-home series against the Toledo Rockets of the MAC. The first game of the series will be played in Reno on Sept. 9, 2017 with the second and final game at the Glass Bowl in Toledo on Sept. 22, 2018.

I think we are actually in talks with Western Nevada Community College for a football home and home so maybe that was how the speculation started it was us...

More like they didn't want to come to Huskie Stadium, where we have the longest home win streak in the nation. That is certainly why we can't get anyone notable to play at our place. Hmmm, or maybe that's why we have the longest home win streak...

You are correct on both accounts. We are not getting a paycheck when we go to Miami, and Miami is not getting a paycheck when they come here.
