At least she will be starting Sunday from the OUTSIDE lane (her choice)...which will give her a better chance to stay up front for the early part of the race.

It will be funny if Stenhouse and her survive the big one and race to the finish. Imagine that tandem and how the other drivers and media will respond. Without even looking, I would bet they are already playing this scenario out.

I always love to watch this race, but this is a twist that could make things very interesting.

Stenhouse's dad, Rick drove sprint cars around here for 20+ years. ]Mrs oldtiger had Ricky in her day care class for a year when he was 4 or 5. edit: that info is incorrect. After speaking with Mrs oldtiger this morning, he was not in her class. sorry for the misinformation

When Ricky started driving, it was obvious that he had talent and after he gained some experience and smoothed out, big Rick did a good job of managing Ricky up through the ranks. I think that he drove one of Tony Stewart's midgets or wingless sprints for awhile.

Starting with Roush at such a young age, he's got a chance to be around a long, long time and since they live across the state line in Olive Branch, he could have the potential to become the best Cup driver ever from MS. The only one that I can remember with much longevity was Lake Speed. Time will tell. I wish him good luck Sunday.

You just came with Lake Speed...pulled that right out the hat did ya...lol.

That is a really cool story.

This post defines why I like OT posts remaining on the same board. I would never have seen your post otherwise. Thank you for sharing that!

As amazing as her winning the pole position is, I find it just as amazing that she's dating Olive Branch's Ricky Stenhouse jr.

Maybe I'm the only one, but I've always gotten the lesbian vibe off of her. And it's not just because she drives NASCAR...

That lesbian vibe is coming from all the lesbians who want to get in her pants.
NOT that theres anything wrong with that...............

The music threads contained a ton of good stuff and I don't recall any of them having a single flame/smack comment hurled at another poster. I'm not complaining about the mod team, but I think that they made a mistake moving those threads.

Yeah, I liked Lake Speed.

Danica and Tony only practiced during 1 of the 2 practice sessions on Friday...and they won't participate in the last 500 practice today.

Danica is running the Nationwide 300 today at Daytona...(she starts 12th).

Some of the other Cup guys running in the Nationwide race today and their starting spots:

7th Kyle Busch
9th Matt Kenseth
10th Tony Stewart
11th Brad Keselowski
13th Dale Jr
19th Kasey Kahne

Former Daytona 500 Champion Trevor Bayne sits on the pole for today's Nationwide race...almost 20 mph slower than the Cup qualifying speeds.

Obviously, the Nationwide cars/engines are totally different than the Cup cars...but maybe Danica can find some friends today on the track that might help her out tomorrow...because without "friends" at Daytona...you have zero shot at winning...and almost zero shot at even staying in the draft.

I don't know that. I did know that both Sr. and Jr. are sincere Church of Christ members and very serious about their faith, so that wouldn't surprise me at all.

Oops, Mrs Oldtiger has told me several time about Stenhouse jr in her class, but it had been a few years. So, this morning I asked her again just to make sure I had it right, and she said, "No, that was someone else, I thought it was him."

So, that wasn't correct at all. Apologize for the misinformation.

ok i think it might be then - his dad was a couple of years behind me so i knew the name and face at the time and knew he was in to some kind of racing (dirt bikes?). always wondered if that was him for sure.
