RE: UCF's Tristan Spurlock hits a fan at The Don
It sucks. Even though I've gotten the most crap from UCF fans/students than another in state school, I know that UCF is an AMAZING institution full of awesome students, staff, and supporters. That homecoming splash you guys have by that huge lake in front of the library is sick. The North side of your camps, with the new towers and the athletics complex is beautiful. It was so well done we're doing the exact same project right now, and are about half way done. Also the academic quality UCF has to offer has to be one of the best out of public schools in the SE. Y'all have a lot to be proud of, good luck in the nBE.
BTW, I'm from Tampa, 10 mins North of USF. I was at RayJay for that huge 60 point win in the second to last (I think) meeting of the War on I-4. I'll tune in for the game this season.

FAUAEPi is right.

And Andre, your disapproval of Florida schools has already been discussed. We get it. I apologize for our state population that is 6 times that of Mississippi and our state trying to accomodate the large amount of students while continuing to provide quality universities.

These kids are probably worse than the U, mainly because FIU will take in the troubled athletes bc they are way down the pecking order in SF. It was insane watching that game, they were flashing gang signs and everything.

FAU is not nearly as bad, several players would flip off our student section and respond to our jeers. while not bad in and of itself, it shows a lack of control. I know these are micro level instances but it is all I know. (btw FIU tweets about taking prospects to strip clubs, so they aint too bright...)

Florida warehouses their surplus young males in college, and it cheapens university athletics as well as academics. UCF alone has about as many students as every public university in MS. And that's just one school... they make up new schools like its some kind of weird bodily function down there: UCF, USF, FAU, FIU, UWF,Florida Gulf Coast, etc. The last time I was in FL, I even saw an ad for something called "Seminole State"... I swear, their state government makes the people who run U Phoenix look like models of digression in comparison. And, of course, FL is a hotbed of that kind of crap, too, e.g. Full Fail University. It's sad that whatever the rest of us do has to be cheapened by the huge diploma mill that is FL.

You don't just pop up universities without demand. For the record, both USF and UCF have better acceptance standards as well as undergraduate enrollments than Southern Miss.

I don't see you making fun of the California School system.

In terms of acceptance rates, FIU, FAU, UCF, USF, FSU, UF, UNF, and New College of Florida all have better acceptance rates. FAMU has the same rate (63%). The only two public schools that have lower acceptance rates are UWF and FGCU. But I thought Florida lets anyone get a degree???

That's not even counting FIT in Melbourne, and the new Tech school (formerly of USF) that is being built off of I-4.

And then the various specialty private schools like University of Tampa, and Rollins College, which come to mind.

Somehow, we've had the second lowest and the lowest acceptance rate the past 2 years out of the major Florida public schools. If I applied here last year or this year, I'd have no chance to get in. Lol
I guess we're already seeing the benefit of the oncampus stadium and improved facilities. Oh and I guess being able to walk to the beach helps too? 04-rock

We've been agreeing too much recently. Heck, PikePanther and myself have been having full blown friendly discussions on FAUOwlsNest.com
This needs to stop lol
Hope to see you at the Burrow in a couple weeks.

It happened during a UTEP home game. So, I'm going to assume that the camera guys were too busy trying to get a good shot of the referee's ass.

LOL.

Seriously though, why does this stuff always seem to happen to UTEP players and fans. This time I am not joking. First you guys were complaining about how the Marshall kids were animated down there. Then an ECU kid punched on a UTEP kid; and now a UCF kid is ready to fight a UTEP fan. Mind you now the Marshall; ECU and UCF have games that are uneventful all the time, so why are there all of these issues surrounding UTEP.

A ECU player punches a UTEP player. Clearly a UTEP problem.

A UCF smacks a heckling student. Clearly a UTEP problem.

I don't remember the issue with Marshall.

I'd be more concerned with CUSA east schools in general. Y'all be violent.

You are generalizing as much as those who say all ECU fans were depressed unless they got a nBE invite.

I have read other teams' fans talk about Marshall's lack of discipline and taunting...

It is because the schools are so far apart from each other that the travel makes everyone bitchy.

In all seriousness I do think he should have his press credentials revoked. A member of the press should never talk smack. You are no longer a fan once you become a member of the press. You should just watch the game and report on it and not try to become part of the story.
