RE: Uh oh!
IP. That's my biggest issue. It took Chryst & company 2-3 month to promote a f*cking assistant. House may be the best DC ever to coach at Pitt for all we know. But this all could've been handled better.

On the bright side, the last time we jacked up a search like this and ended up promoting an assistant, we got Jamie Dixon.

RE: Uh oh!
What I find very galling is that there are posters on the TOS's that are blaming the fans for this. It almost makes me think that Steve Pederson has minions posting on his behalf on message boards? If true, that is truly pathetic!

wow... I didn't catch any of that. Other than the 'Lairs Premium board I really only post here. Takes a lot for me to post on Digest.

RE: Uh oh!
Digest has some really good posters, you just have to ignore a ton of the bull szhit. You post on lair? Peak seems pretty well connected. What are his thoughts on this House stuff?

1999 a pretty good mod on scout said when the free board finds out what is going on we are going to hit full meltdown mode... doesn't sound too good?

By the way... John Palermo is being rumored now too.

I saw the Palermo stuff... I'm thinking that we're heading towards CoDC's until House is ready to be the fulltime DC.

RE: Uh oh!
So it is now official...

We have two linebacker coaches?
two d-line coaches?
a DC / safety coach?
and no corner coach?

I'd say Poteat is the unofficial corner coach as a Grad Assistant.

I see Inoke as DT's Coach, Palermo as DE/OLB's Coach, w/ the other as the MLB's coach. Shale be interesting to see how it sorts out.

I don't have an issue w/ House being promoted to the job. I mostly have a problem w/ how long this search took.

Dokish not pleased...

"Even if House is a success, I think this proves that the Pitt administration really isn't interested in anything more than just staying afloat. "

panthersprey.blogspot.com/

Also per Dokish...

"House has one year of major college experience. No offense, but the fact that any fan is okay with this is why the administration continues to not give a damn. If the fans don't scream for accountability then the administration can do what they want."

RE: Uh oh!
After thinking about this some I'm not against this promotion as much as the next guy. Granted I'm unhappy with the timeline. But every Coordinator/HC was a position coach at some point in their career. I do understand the he has only one year of experience as a DB coach but Chryst obviously knows his personal better than us average fans. So just maybe House impressed that much and is a potential HC at some point in his career. And trust me I do realize this is a risky move w/ potential to fail big time.
