Man, can we stop having these hypothetical, useless discussions about IF we choke? I won't be surprised, but I guess WKU's season is so far in the toilet that they have to start talking pre-smack before it even happens in order to cope with life in BG. Hope you all come back for a nice bowl of crow.
2005-2006 WKU Hilltoppers 20-5, 11-1 in the Sun Belt headed to MT for the second to last game of the regular season. WKU was in line for an at large if they slipped up in the tourney, but they lost to MT and then USA in the finals, missing out on the NCAA tournament. Sounds like a chokejob to me.
2004-2005 WKU Hilltoppers 18-5, 8-3 with two conference games left. They choke at home against UALR to lose the Eastern division title two days before a bracketbuster game with Bradley. They lost to doormat FIU to end the regular season, and then to Denver in the SBC tournament, going on to the NIT.
There's your example, bro.
My apologies if the fact that you guys had 3 losses going into the home stretch of the 04-05 season while we had only 1 last year at the same point isn't a good enough comparison. Fact is, we were both in the same spot as far as at large selection.
