I was unaware that Michael Craig was injured. I absolutely hate to hear this. That is a big loss.

Yeah, it is already starting to show. We seem to be more vulnerable on the perimeter and are not getting as many turnovers. We just have to suck it up and move forward.

I'm pulling for you the rest of the way (except when USM plays the Tigers, of course). I think you still have enough guys to keep winning. Getting out of Minges with a win is not an easy thing.

IF, and it's a big if, USM can finish the season with a 4-1 record and make it to the finals against you guys we should be a lock for a NCAA bid. 4-1 with a semifinal loss and we're a bubble team. Main thing is we need all the favorites to win a majority, if not all, of their respective conference tournaments

beat me to it....lol....spot on with the last statement too.

Even beyond all this, we need our opponents' opponents to keep making our opponents look better in the rpi (confused yet?). Oregon coming back to win was huge because Utep beat them. Tennessee blowing out Kentucky is huge because Memphis beat them. Best of all, Georgia leads Ole Miss by 7 right now!

in Tulsa,
Tulsa- 101 (14-11, 6-5)
Houston- 92 (15-9, 4-7)

*Tulsa seems to be getting into together. They have now won two straight. This win snaps a two game losing streak at home. Houston continues to lose the game following a win. They have now gone win-loss-win-loss-win-loss in their last six contests.

Tulsa's freshmen are starting to step up. Wright, Woodard & Ray combined for 51 points today. If we can stay away from any more injuries, we could be fairly competitive at the CUSA tournament. Overall, Tulsa freshmen scored 62 points today. Our freshmen have been scoring close to half our points this season. It would be even more, if not for injuries.

Houston has a talented team & they will be a tough out in the tournament.

The rest of USM's schedule is interesting. You have UTEP and UCF, but those are both in Hattiesburg. Those are two tough opponents, but that should be two wins in the end. You have ECU at home. If you can beat them in Minges, you will beat them in Hattiesburg. @ Memphis is not impossible, but I think it will be very tough. @ Marshall would seem like a win, but you never know which Marshall team is gonna show up. I think USM goes 4-1 with the loss being @ Memphis.

As far as the C-USA tournament, I don't mean to insult anyone, but with UCF out, it just seems to me that this is the Memphis-USM show. I would be very surprised if that were not the match-up in the finals. I also wouldn't be shocked if USM wins that one. Beating a team three times in one season, especially a good team, is extremely difficult.

Tulsa is the wild card for the C-USA tournament. I still think Memphis and USM are the clear favorites for the finals, but with the tourney in Tulsa, anything can happen, especially if TU continues to improve.

4-1 I think puts us back on the bubble... but we have to at least win the post-bye round.

If we go 5-0, i think we're back in as at an-large, regardless of the tourney

I think if we can go 4-1, and get one conference-tourney win, we sneak back in... Win two and I think we're a bubble-locked in

If we go 3-2 or worse, we have to win the conference tourney

MEM hitting on 12 of 8 cylinders right now....when Marshall got close, it was just a minute later they were back down by double digits (with the exception of the first 9 mins of the second half). As usual, MEM showing they are the class of CUSA and we are stuck fighting to take them down.

USM only beat ECU by 2 points at USM last year. So that is not a sure win; and the last 2 games have been decided in overtime. It is hard to say how that game will go.

I know this...we were favored by 3.5 - 4 today at your house (which shocked me)....will be higher in a couple of weeks (7 - 9).

Calling a spade as a spade, until you guys figure out how to guard down low, you are in a gale pissing contest...and it's not downwind.

Will guarantee you guys don't hit all those threes at the Yurt.

But, you are right...on any given Sunday.... I take no games for granted.

You should be more concerned with what excuse Pastner is going to use this year when Memphis loses in the first round.

You can't make any guarantees about anything, because you don't know how these games are going to go. You guys can guard Richmond and then Bowden could hit 6 of 8 from deep or some crap like that. Injuries could happen before the next game. Kemp, Armstrong and Guilmette might eat their Wheaties before the next game. You just don't know and actually ECU played you guys better in your arena last year than they did in Minges.

How so? By saying that saying that you don't know how something will turn out beforehand?
