My family and I were at the game today with a number of Rocket fans over on "Doggie Hill" along the 3rd baseline. Nice to see the Rockets and a number of fans turnout so far away from Toledo. FAU does a nice job of putting the actual game together for the fans with the music, field maintenance, etc. I was wondering if UT does anything like that at Scott Park? If anybody else that was visiting got to look at the FB stadium, what did you think?

It will be chilly, but if the forecast is accurate it looks like the Rockets and Flyers will play on Tuesday in Dayton. Apparently live stats will be available.

Here's a link to the game notes from the Dayton site.

Rockets win 6-1. A trip to Pittsburgh is next, for the Panther Classic. Two scheduled with Niagara (one on Friday, one on Saturday) and two with Pitt (one on Saturday, one on Sunday).

RE: UT 2013 baseball season
They're expecting bad weather in Pittsburgh Sunday, so UT's schedule has been changed for this weekend.

Edit: The players are probably used to this and aren't bothered by it, but it seems Toledo got the short end of the stick in this change. Playing early, then waiting until after 4 for their second game? On both days? One day OK, but let Pitt or Niagara have that schedule one day.

Amazing what the southern schools do for their baseball programs. We went to Bowling Green, KY for the Rocket opener with WKU last season, and they had an amazing stadium with almost a minor league game atmosphere.

Not a whole lot goes on at Scott Park as far as game experience, but you still can't beat the quality of ball that gets played there. I wonder if they ever thought about returning the field to main campus? Maybe use Carter field?

Awesome that you came out to support the team! I know the players love to see Rocket fans, especially on the road.04-bow

I would have loved if the baseball field was on main campus when I was in school. With it at Scott Park, it can be hard to make it to a game during the week when you have class. If it was on main campus, they might get some students and faculty who might stop by for a half hour or hour when they have time. And if the stadium is on main campus, it lets people know that, yes, we DO have a baseball team.

Rockets defeated Niagara 7-4. UT led 3-0 after 4, trailed 4-3 after 5, tied it in the seventh, scored two in the eighth and one in the ninth for the 7-4 win.

Weather and time permitting (I don't know if the Pitt stadium has lights) Toledo is scheduled to play Pittsburgh after the Panthers play Niagara. As of now Pitt-Niagara scheduled to start around 3:00, UT-Pittsburgh to start at 6:00.

Going to the seventh inning in Athens and the Rockets lead 7-3. Toledo got two in the second and Ohio tied it in the bottom of the inning. UT went ahead with one in the fifth and OU tied it again with a run in the bottom of the inning. Rockets got four in the sixth to regain the lead, thanks mainly to a 3-run homer by Ben Hammer.
