Marv, that would be 9 in a row over the mighty Pirate basketball team. What was really great last Saturday was that you really thought you were going to win. Now that is funny.

I liked ECU's chances of winning this game, but I did not make a prediction in this thread. I don't make predictions in games where I think that talent and the coaching is too close. The last few games between ECU and USM have been by 2 points, I think 7 points, overtime and overtime. That is too close to really make a prediction. That is literally a play here and a play there; but kudos to the Southern Miss players for making the critical plays at the critical times. I expect the game at Southern Miss to also be very close; hopefully the Pirates will find a way to pull it out, but I will not make a prediction on that one either.

Now some of these other games were easy to call. It may not turn out the way that a prediction is made; but if you review the matchups and look at the coaching and common opponents then you can come away with some pretty decent and healthy predictions. Basketball is differenct in that way than baseball and football; at least to me it is.

He's just butthurt because during the game last Saturday he really thought ECU was finally going to beat USM in basketball again. With 5 minutes to go, he was experiencing elation. Of course USM doesn't lose to ECU in basketball anymore. Silly fool was kidding himself.
