Georgetown and Cincinnati Tonight
Any of you remember what happened the last time these two teams met up?

RE: Georgetown and Cincinnati Tonight
huge game tonight..

Georgetown wins and sets up game next Saturday vs Syracuse...
a loss isn't fatal- but makes it tougher for sure.

for Cincy, a win keeps them in the conversation, but a loss and you're looking at a 7 seed at best most likely.

7 seed in the NCAA tournament or 7 seed in the BE tournament?

in the BE tournament...
right now 6 teams in the BE have 3-4 losses. With loss tonight, Cincy would have 6- tied with St John's and Villanova. already wouldn't have tiebreakers vs Syracuse, Georgetown, and St John's. Split with Pitt. At best split with ND. only one have tiebreaker vs would be Marquette.

oh, and Cincy has a brutal end of year schedule with 2 vs Uconn, ND, and Louisville as 4/5 last games(other vs USF)

Cincinnati is averaging a 6 seed right now (link) and Georgetown is a 5 seed, I would assume they will likely swap with a UC win tonight.......

all the ones done yesterday have Georgetown as a 4(except for 1 that has as a 3). Cincy yesterday was a 6 on average with almost half having them as a 7 seed.

It's odd because as good as Cinci is/has been it's just not exciting to play them. Just feels so boring. Kinda like WVU. Not really sad to be leaving them behind.

Georgetown has been having issues winning against Pittsburgh and Cincinnati in recent years. Their physical style of play has been a problem. Hopefully the Hoyas find a way to win tonight.

G'town up 6 at the half. UC is 1-11 on 3's and 8-17 on FT's.

Hoyas hang on, Cincinnati makes 1 FG in the last 6 minutes ( a give away lay up). I guess this is an improvement from the Pitt game where Cincinnati didn't make a FG in the last 9 minutes.

I actually started getting scared there in the last few minutes. Glad UC got trigger happy and started forcing shots. Oh yeah, Bob Knight is a horrible color commentator.

Great win Hoyas. After losing their first 2 conference games, they are now 9-3.

Probably both. I sure hope we don't slip lower than 7.

RE: Georgetown and Cincinnati Tonight
Georgetown fans, congrats on the win 04-bow It is never easy to win in 5th/3rd (we had a near-sellout; just a couple hundred empties), and you guys deserve all the credit.

Our inability to score inside killed us. Abundantly clear the Hoyas didn't have that issue. That was the biggest difference in the game. Otherwise, the two teams were mirror images of one another.

Best wishes down the stretch.

Thanks Redman. Even if we and UConn don't tag along to the C-7 league (I'm in the minority of UC fans that would oppose it for various reasons), I hope to see some of your teams stay on our OOC schedule.

Cincinnati was a great addition to the Big East. Would love to have them in the C7. I think their best course of action at this point would be to hunker down in the Aresco League and win games. They will get an invite to a better football conference soon enough. The addition of their new football coach and the announcement of their stadium upgrades will only help their cause.
