Do you have a link to back up that statement?

look it up. 2nd highest CUSA winning %, two titles (99 and 01), seven dances (2 NITs, but I don't really count them), played in 4 CUSA title games, and had a .500 record against everyone in the conference except Cincy and SLU, including 10-0 vs USM.

Louisville went to a final four in CUSA. Sorry, that trumps everything else.

No disagreement about memphis. The late Finch and Tic Price years were brutal at the Pyramid.

Charlotte beat them around 15-8 head to head, knocked them out of 3 tourneys, and beat them so bad in Louisville that Crum resigned.
The final four run was nice, but wouldn't that make them a better team than Cincy as well.

Amazing the you guys had so much more success in CUSA against Louisville than you did us. The Tiger/49er CUSA series was 6-6 including the only time we met in the CUSA tournament.

The overall record is 8-6 with Memphis winning one game before CUSA was formed and another after Charlotte left the conference.

It's hard to believe that we only played 12 times in the conference, but that silly red/white/blue divisional format caused some weird conference schedules.

It wasn't the red/white/blue divisions that caused us to not play Charlotte much. Charlotte and Memphis were actually both in the White Division in 1995-96 and 1996-97. It was the American Division/National Division set-up that existed from 1997-98 to 2002-03 that put Memphis on the opposite side of the conference from not only Charlotte, but also Louisville, Cincinnati, Marquette, DePaul, Saint Louis and East Carolina. Therefore, we only played those teams once a year. There should never be divisions within conferences in college basketball, no matter how big the league. That should be reserved for football, only for the purposes of the conference championship game.

That 50-footer went in. A loss is a loss.

We didn't play more because of the American/National Division split. By the way, the last time Memphis played Charlotte in a C-USA tournament game, the 49ers got routed (by a mediocre Memphis team).

Disregarding basketball and going back to the orignial post that started this thread, I don't go to the Nbe to flame or mock. In fact, I don't even post there, period. I respect the fact that it is a Nbe board.
