Does Ohio State still have their track inside the stadium? It was a lousy, cramped mess for track back in the 70s. Really a bad idea to jam a football field in the middle. I suppose by now they moved the track to a new location more befitting of its elite status among all sports and left the football field in the old mausoleum

No they took it out and more seats. Especially after their Track facility was renovated.

RE: FBS Stadium Experience Rankings
I have been to all the MAC stadiums at least 3 times. Buffalo would be the worst, in a league by itself. Oddest shaped fb stadium ever. I have been there 5 times and it has never been nice weather, there have never been more than a few thousand fans. Nice things about UB, restrooms and consessions and wide aisles, no fans so easy parking. It is right on campus, so you can walk through campus on the way to the game. Seeing them ranked as the second best in the MAC just completely destroyed any credibility ( in my mind) for these rankings.

RE: FBS Stadium Experience Rankings
Buffalo's track and lack of fan support really hurts it IMO. I think if it was pulled closer to the field and if they filled it, it would look great. It's pretty big with those endzones. Even moreso than Waldo those endzone bleachers are a problem when playing on TV. I heard the Pitt game only had 10k there?

The rankings by this author are obviously all a sick joke after the top 20, so we can all stop debating... plus, winning should be the biggest factor in stadium experiences, in which case NIU would be top 10 anyway 03-wink

Tickets sold for Pitt were 17K but many who had payed, and students, stayed away from the rain. We drew almost 22K for Pitt the last time we hosted. Rain throughout both the Pitt and Toledo games sunk our season average.

The stadium is 20 years old so anyone who likes a historic feel will be displeased. Those who value comfort and access (like most suburban-design conventions) will like it more. Under Warde Manuel we focused on greatly improving the stadium's team facilities, and new lights and digital displays. Now under AD White we are planning for 1600 new indoor club-seats for the East grandstand by 2015, and the ~$25M fieldhouse (finally) by 2016-17. He has also stated removing the track is 'on the radar'.

Defend your own...Don't start slamming Eastern. Our stadium has symmetry. I know people complain about the track, but we still have a track team. All we need is more fans.

Dear Ken Barna,

Don't be so defensive. I like rynearson

I was talking about your indoor practice facility.

RE: FBS Stadium Experience Rankings
So let's say I go to Hawaii and there's a volcanic eruption, then I go to California and there's an earthquake, then I go to Florida and there's a hurricane, then I go to North Dakota and it's the most pleasant weather they've ever had. I then write an article and rank North Dakota as the greatest vacation destination in America. Over the last 30 years I've been to every campus in the MAC except UMass. All of the stadiums have positive and negative features. I don't think there's enough difference to argue over which is better.

If all that happens and you survived to have wonderful weather in North Dakota, buy lottery tickets. Your luck is unbelievable and you'll need the winnings to pay for all the travel.

I was thinking you'd want to know my vacation itineraries so you'd know where NOT to go.
