Great mini-article, thanks for posting, Poise. Hope Coach Pete stays long enough that we might earn a FBS National Championship. And that might be awhile, given the changing BC$ climate.

He's definitely done some great things at Boise:
- 2 BCS Bowl wins...plus 2 more Top-10 seasons that DIDN'T involve a BCS Bowl.
- Great fanbase (Las Vegas Bowl 3 years in a row, all with good attendance)...and I continue to see Bronco gear worn by folks here in VA.
- Legitimate efforts to play challenging teams early in the season, winning most of them.

I wouldn't worry too much about Boise being "squeezed" out of a Top 4 Playoff. With an undefeated record and a couple good wins, I think the Broncos have built up enough credibility to be given serious consideration by a committee, particularly if they're unbeaten with a Conference Championship Game victory.

Some might consider them like a Butler or Gonzaga of college football - a power team in a non-power conference. Just win, and everything else will probably take care of itself.

That seems to be the general consensus around the nation. There would have to be 4 undefeated AQ teams + Boise for us to not be in the playoff. Unlikely but it has happened. I think the real question is will the MWC champ be more highly regarded then the Big East champ.

Good question indeed. I suppose it wouldn't be impossible for both the MWC and BE champs to find their way into the Top 4 if a year like 2009 (Cincy and TCU) or 2010 (TCU and Boise both in position, until "that game" in Reno...sorry, Broncos) were to happened again.

Maybe Cincy and Boise one of these years?

Hard to imagine now, sure. But then again, with athe playoff in place for 12 years, who's to say what could happen.
