Better than two punches to Konnor Tucker.

Better to get beat? OK

No, a punch to the gut is better than a POS player punching Konnor Tucker twice in a game. But I did quote the score so you got me there.

UTEP can't keep up during our down year....academics are a wash and the school is a place where there is nothing to do.

Great shooting by Houston (70 percent from 3 point land) and out rebounded us by 14, they out hustled us and deserve this victory.
No excuses we are out of sync and it looks like some bad shooting has become some kind of flu that the players keep passing to each other on different nights.
We are quickly playing ourselves out of the CBI, although I never really thought this team was ready for a post season run.
All we can do is cheer for our beloved Miners, I will be there when UCF comes to town and I am sure at least 7k others will join me.
Now to the bickering with these lame Houston posters, it is quite pointless, they won so let them gloat.
What I find amusing is the bringing up of acceptance percentages, ghettos, crime and anything that has nothing to do with University athletics. UTEP nor Houston are academic juggernauts so that point is mute. Both are athletic underachievers so stating one is better than the other is lame as well. The bottom line is if I go anyplace in El Paso I will see at least 5 people, usually more, wearing UTEP gear or have some type of paraphernalia on their car. In my 40 years I have seen one Houston bumper sticker and two Cougar hats and this is going into Houston to visit family and/or work quite often. The Houston posters want you to dislike them or their school because it shows them that you think their school is relevant to you. The travesty is , minus the times we play them, they are irrelevant to not only their fellow conference mates but to their own alumni, students and city. You should pity them not spite them, while they move up to an alleged better conference they still wont be relevant and still wont be beloved by their own. That, to me , is much worse than UTEPs consistent ball dropping, literally and figuratively.

We're "irrelevant" yet you guys can't get College Gameday to come to your campus. When we win, we dominate Houston, when we have a mediocre season, we still have a small piece. You're a no-name branch campus. You have your place in life, we have ours. Deal with it.

To be fair, we have talent and were in position to blow out Rice, UCF and Tulane. We had no business losing those games. We should be 7-3 in league play.

Don't worry about us, we're not the ones that will end up asking not if, but which programs to shut down.

I'll take the $2 million over the $300k that CUSA will get once it's time to renegotiate. Check out the Sun Belt's TV contract, and embrace your future.

What the hell is our HBG boy Floyd doing....something is amiss and I just can't believe it is strictly coaching flaws. Can someone give me an honest response w/o the nBE/CUSA rhetoric?

It's strictly a talent issue. Floyd inherited a senior heavy team minus the top 2 seniors. That was year one.

There's a limit to visits and contacts with recruits and Coach had way too many voids to fill. He had to settle and last year's recruits were not at the level he would normally get. That was in year two

This is year three and basically the same team as last year. We did pick up Tucker and Moore became eligible.

Next year we finally get Floyd level recruits. They will still be young.

Some think by year three we should already be a post season favorite. Every coach faces a different situation. This is ours.

College gameday?, college gameday, are you serious? You are excited about a television program coming to see you get pounded by Southern Miss. You brag about cheesy ESPN coming out to a city of 2.1 million, thinking they actually give you clout. I bet you get excited about the kartrashians as well. Have you ever heard of tv ratings? They were hoping to excite the dormant Houston fan base, and by the sound of it, they did, for about two months. During that magical gameday season of yours I went to Houston several times and you still gave away free tickets to try to fill that landfill you call a stadium. If by small piece you mean submicroscopic than yes you are correct.Out of a city of 2.1 million people you cant even get 1k to see your kids bust their ass, something is terribly wrong with your support. We do have our place in life and in El Pasos heart, you on the other hand have your place in Houstons neither regions.

Actually, we stomped SMU on College Gameday week by 30 points. I'm not surprised that you didn't know this considering you (probably) have a UTEP degree which is the equivalent of misspelled letters written in crayon on construction paper. ABC aired our CUSA championship game on NATIONAL TV and we went full retard.

That being said, over 150,000 people entered the raffle to get 4 free UH tockets for the CUSA championship game because the game sold out in a mere 4 hours. Something UT-Juarez and their big orange tarp wouldn't know anything about.

Btw, Houston's nether (I see that UTEP doesn't have a good ESL department, otherwise you would know how to spell) regions is still far, far more valuable than all of Juarez El Paso.

Here's a pic of the UTEP campus:

No, we were the superior team by far and we beat ourselves. Plain and simple. We have more people in a 10 mile radius than you do in your entire county.

Sucks to be an 0-12, directional school located in Nowhere, Mississippi.

Why are Houston fans even fighting this? This is pretty typical stuff. Houston wins, other teams make fun of our attendance. Houston looses and they all say Coogin' it. Who cares?

What's UTEP's story this year? What's Tim building there? Happy with him?

I remember we looked at Tim too for head coach.
