The irony of your post is too much. The op of this thread was about fans of schools that are leaving showing no respect for this conference and our new schools. So what do you do, you show up running your mouth just proving my point. As I said, go to the BE board and bash this league and our member schools all you want. I could care less. On THIS board, which is our board now, not yours, we can bash you and your school if we want to. No member of this board should be tolerated that goes to the BE board and bashes that league or its members. This is not your board now. As I said, look at which board Memphis is listed on this site as being a member of.

This is our board until July 1...and honestly...after the CUSA tourney I'm done here...after that its full on March Madness and NBA time for me.

When July comes, we'll be gone and enjoying our one and only year as cartel schools. :)

USM football....5 CUSA titles, ranked 3 times in final polls while in CUSA, 18 winning seasons in last 19 years, 14 bowl games in last 16 years. USM 40 wins Memphis 22 wins all time record.

Memphis football.....0 CUSA titles, never ranked while in CUSA, 5 winning seasons in last 19 years, 5 bowl games in last 16 years, Memphis 22 wins USM 40 wins all time record.

Even after going winless for a whole season last year, USM has won more games in the last 2 years than Memphis has in the last 4 years. So bring the football talk on. I love it.

Thats what I thought, you cheated to get there. Don't give me the BS Cal didn't know. Cal has cheated everywhere he has been and is a walking NCAA Violation. I give him maybe 5 more years with Kentucky and he will leave under cover at night as NCAA comes to investigate the program.

As far as Memphis football getting better. Does that mean a IAA won't beat you "this year".

I have no idea if you are a nice guy or not, but I respect Old Tiger and if he says you are I take that as good enough for me. I also have no problem with the decision (meant discussion, sorry about that) we have had and glad to help you learn more about the things I know and learn from you the things you know. I don't mind engaging in a debate with you and I like that you are willing to engage as well. Sports is a competition and fans are going to engage in such conversations no matter what and they should. I know coaches like to have passionate fans and to have spirited discussions that include facts and historical information as well as parts of the sports that help add to the understanding of things in general help newer fans to learn. I appreciate your debate and welcome it. I also respect Memphis and will be grateful to them for the time after Katrina they allowed USM to get ready for the Alabama game instead of having to postpone or cancel that game. Memphis was a gracious host and has some of the greatest fans, and I will miss our games even though I will admit I think we will find MTSU a more stubborn football foe, I will say Memphis has it's spot in the hearts of USM folks.

I tell you JD I don't mind because I find most of it funny and unsupported by any real hard cold facts of why this Big East or Whatever it will be Called Conference is anything more than C-USA. I mean come on we at USM can compete with them and in most sports would be right in the thick of the title race. Football we would be a constant contender, basketball we would more than hold our own and in baseball we would be one of the powers, oh and guess what, that is exactly where we are now and were since C-USA started. So if the teams leaving want to go I wish them well and thank them for the many football victories they have provided for USM, and in the future should our paths cross I wish them well and guarantee they will find USM as tough as they should expect of the Golden Eagles. It might turn up later USM moves to that conference but frankly I don't see it is worth it for us to since we pick up some very interesting rivalries like MTSU in place of Memphis and from my evaluation a better football team, La. Tech who we already have a rivalry that dates as far back as 1923 and even a historic name for the game "Rivalry of the South" so it will probably be more competitive than Tulane was for us, and it will be a rivalry that has a long history with frankly a better football team.

So in closing I say good luck and hope things work out but not really wanting to join that conference over C-USA at least for now. It really reminds more of the early days of C-USA and the first 4 years when we won 3 of the 4 football titles and with the exception of the 98 Tulane team, we found most teams feeding off us for survival, I would really rather deal with some teams that should be excellent rivals for us. I am not meaning to bad mouth Tulane because I really do wish them the best and having been born in N.O. I have a special interest in Tulane, but to be honest, I like C-USA better than the Big East or Whatever it will be Named Conference.

Middle wasnt so little on Oct. 13, 2007 (21-7), Sept. 12, 2009 (31-14), Oct. 1, 2011 (38-31), and especially on Sept. 15, 2012 (48-30)... I love playing Memphis. It's an easy win.

Middle wasnt so little on Oct. 13, 2007 (21-7), Sept. 12, 2009 (31-14), Oct. 1, 2011 (38-31), and especially on Sept. 15, 2012 (48-30)... I love playing Memphis. It's an easy win.

I can remember many years of Memphis football and USM has played them every year until now with the exception of 1980 since I was born and the year prior to my birth. I can tell you Memphis as a football team could be good but most of time not very good. USM has owned them in my lifetime and while we had a very long series with them usually we didn't put too much emphasis on them because they seldom were a team a victory over was that big a deal. They have been good to USM through the years and having met many of their fans during that time, I will say they have many wonderful fans, but I believe MTSU will be more of a challenge and we will find MTSU more of a regular tough game than Memphis. I wish them well but I would rather play better football teams like MTSU.
