Buffalo Springfield and Smothers Brothers
Here is a youtube clip that I thought was funny from the past. Anyone remember viewing this episode of the Smothers Brothers? The Buffalo Springfield were set to appear on the Ed Sullivan Show but Neil Young quit the band before the group appeared. He returned to do the Smothers Brothers Show. Tommy Smothers is a great comedian. A blast from the past. Good clip.

Here is another youtube video of the Buffalo Springfield playing For What it's Worth and breaking into Neil Young's Mr. Soul. Great 60's guitar work here. Notice bassist Bruce Palmer with his back to the camera. He constantly played with his back to the audience because he felt he needed to be in sync with the drummer by watching him play during each song. Many did not even know what he looked like as he rarely turned around at any point during live shows. One of the many things the Springfiled did on stage that was very unique. Palmer as was Young is from Canada. Palmer was later deported and busted for Marijuana possession. He was actually busted two times in one day. Many in the band said he was the best bass player they ever played with in their entire careers and considered the soul of the group including Stills and Young. For those who don't know, Steven Stills is wearing the cowboy hat and the suit, Neil Young is with the dark hair, pork chop side burns and indian tassle type jacket. Good stuff.

Saw one of their reunion concerts at the Fox in Oakland a couple years back...great show. The Stills-Furay unison vocals were one of the great sounds in rock history. I'd love to see those two do a couple of shows together...maybe bring Messina back in too.

RE: Buffalo Springfield and Smothers Brothers
That would have been great!! I'd like to see any reunion that involved any combo of the members. Apparently, the band was planning another reunion but Young refused saying he was tired of playing songs from his past. Now, he has reconsidered and is warming to the idea. Might see something soon. My understanding was that the tour would be 30 cities in 2012-2013.
