Memphis needs an on-campus stadium, too.

Yes they do. Thew Liberty is nicer than LF but, on campus is they way to go.

Done.

And tweeted.

And emailed to my mother who is a UAB grad, and my girlfriend who went to BSC for 2 years.

Without question.

Memphis is the only state university in Tennessee without on-campus facilities for football and basketball.

RE: VOTE to help UAB get an on-campus stadium!
Sad news for UAB fans. Seems like the new United States Football League is coming back in 2014 and bringing a team to Alabama...but not in Birmingham...

They are proposing to build a brand new 20-30k seat stadium for many of their inaugural teams...

http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2013/...er_default

If they are planning to do this...I don't see why they wouldn't bring it to Birmingham. There are already several 20-40k seat stadiums in AL that they could use.

Unless there is some sort of trick that the stadium won't be built within the city limits of Birmingham. (Maybe somewhere in Hoover or another suburb or Birmingham) I think it would be perfect for Birmingham.

I hope a city like Raleigh or Durham gets one of these USFL teams. I'd love to go to some games.

I was stationed overseas when the first USFL installment was in place, so I never got to see my Stallions play in person. Move back to Birmingham and the league folds. We lost a hockey team that year, and the baseball team (Barons) wasn't far behind in leaving, either, although they're back this year with a new stadium downtown after a 30-year departure.

Raleigh would be a great city for a USFL (part II) franchise. I think they would embrace this team the way they have the NHL Hurricanes.

I really don't think this will help, mostly because it goes without saying that more people would attend your games if they didn't think that in so doing, they were jeopardizing their safety.

a poll won't change many minds that refuse to be changed by something this obvious.

on edit : but I did as you bid me 03-wink

Screw them. They just had four of their football players hit with robbery charges.

you would think that bama players already make plenty of money without having to steal.

I would love to see UAB get it's on campus stadium, but I wonder how much chance there is of it happening. What is the actual chances of such?

Is UTC's stadium on campus?

It will happen. We just need to keep up the pressure. UAB raised over 15 million and sold out all its luxury boxes and had the season ticket commits. The Board will not allow it to be discussed even though a sound business plan was in place and preliminary drawings were in the works. It's literally that close.
