Wasn't the old theater in there as well? Ullman always reminded me of my old high school in CO with the radiators under the windows, etc.

"Space for academics" means classrooms for exercise science courses in addition to the football offices, locker room, meeting rooms, etc., not academics for athletes which will still be in the Hyre center portion of Ullman.

Hire, not Hyre, named for Don and Marsha Hire, who are wonderful supporters of UAB.

The theater is in the bell building attached to Ullman. And, it should've...Ullman was a segregated black high school prior to UAB purchasing it.

Yeah, that's right. I used to like going to plays in that old theater- My wife used to work evenings at Children's while I was in school, and so when I was bored/tired of studying, I'd go to plays there.
