Ticket office using some interesting tactics...
I bought my ticket for the last home game online and picked them up at will call. I had to create a new account on the website so that might have had something to do with what happened today.

I just got a call from the ticket office asking how my visit was to UA, how were my seats, did I enjoy the win, etc. She asked if I knew about the upcoming games and if I needed tickets. She was very nice about it but it just kinda comes across as awkward. She spoke up the bracketbuster game quite a bit too.

Anyone else get these calls? Am I just special? Is the ticket office trying to get me at a game so they can finally catch Nacho and ban him from WMU's campus?!

I got the same call after buying tickets to the UM hockey game. As far as I know, they've been doing this for a few years.

Interesting. I usually just buy my tickets at the door. Kinda annoying and would turn me off to buying tickets online again to be honest.

What they should be doing is calling up alumni living in a 4 hour radius who do NOT have season tickets/multiple single game tickets to the games and try to talk them into coming back to their alma mater for a weekend and taking in a game! If they are reaching out to the people that already follow the team, they aren't gaining anything.

This year has been abnormal. I would say the ticket office is being much more pro active. I've gotten no less than 4 phone calls in the last 4 months. I don't mind them. They've always called about renewing season tics. But now they call and ask about how things are going, if your experience is good, and then they mention tics available for hockey or bball games. It's not a hard sell like a telemarketer and I do appreciate the effort they have been showing.

Needle in a haystack. Much better odds at selling tics to people who have already been to a game than alumni in a 4 hour radius.

Take care of the current client base and gradually grow it. I know the calls can be a pain. The good news is that their number is easy to identify and you can always let it go to VM.

I suspect you might want to pay attention to the phone calls. Last year when they called me to renew my bball tics, they offered me a couple free tics to a hockey game as a reward. I don't mind getting a "deal" or being bribed once in a while. At the very least it shows they aren't indifferent about fans being in the building.
