We own Memphis in football, they own us in basketball. It is the order of things.

That's true. Of course, just about everyone owns Memphis in football. It is what it is.

He would be the last person I would ever want to brag about for my Univ.
Don't forget that poor kid's XBOX he stole in High school.
At least he didn't punch a police horse in the face.
Ahhhh Art Long and Danny Fortson...the good ol days! Go Cats!
Yes they were. Some great Cincy teams with some interesting players.

You guys had a few good years when we had just joined CUSA. A couple of 8-win seasons if I recall.

9-4 in 2003
8-4 in 2004
7-5 in 2005
2-10 in 2006
7-6 in 2007
6-7 in 2008
Disaster in 2009
Disaster in 2010
Disaster in 2011
4-8 in 2012 (won the final three games of the season so we finally have some hope again)
We have had a few good years over the last 10 years or so, but UCF always kicks our ass regardless.

Classic case of repeating something over and over again and wishing it to be true. That actually never happened, not even close...

True, but we were beating Florida State, Miami and several SEC schools before UCF even had a football team. Memphis has had good football in the past and will again. By the same token, the day will come when UCF and other incoming Big East schools will have very good basketball programs. Any urban university can have good basketball if they are committed.
Despite last night's blow-out, beating UCF at Orlando later this season will not be an easy task - they are dangerous.

That's what felt about your dumpster fire of a football team this past season. LOL. See how that works?
Two seasons ago was the dumpster fire. The fire department arrived this past year and started putting the flames out.

What a great pic of Nic. God....as a Tiger fan I loved him and hated him at the same time. What a fabulous player. He was fun to hate. Still can't believe he took us down 4 times in one season. We were damn good that year but UC, Hugs, and NVE knew our few weaknesses and took advantage.

Not intended as an insult to Memphis, but it really is amazing what a difference expectations make to us fans. Memphis went 4-8 last year with losses to Tennessee Martin, Arkansas State, and Middle Tennessee, among others. I'm now hearing from Memphis fans how improved they are. In 2011 UCF went 5-7 with a loss to FIU, and UCF fans were about to jump off a cliff.

True about expectations, but part of our optimism is we started out horribly, then finished 4-4 in conference, including winning last 3 games in blowouts. New staff seemed to get things turned around late.

Exactly.
Win 2, 1, 2 games in the 3 previous years, open the season with a loss to UT Martin, and then win 3 straight over CUSA programs to finish the year and the sun will look brighter no matter what field you're standing on.
Next year is going to be a little tougher and I hope expectations are set accordingly.
