Well at this point it might be a good thing ECU kept the door open to come back, because the death of the Big East is possible. Only thing that might keep it alive is there are enough tournament credits and exit fees to split to maybe make it worth the whole thing not disappearing.

Have UC and UCONN crunched the numbers to see how much exit fee and tournament credits money they can collect by keeping the NBE alive and waiting for their ACC invite ?? I guess if the league disolves they get to keep the credits that they earned and join the C7 and park their FB somewhere and let it slide into obscurity.

I'm not sure that this is the proper place to post this, but between conference numbers 6, 7, 8 there are enough relevant quality athletic programs that want to play/be associated with other relevant quality programs to fill one or more successful conferences. What banner or banners that group of programs plays under probably exists today, but may not.

I'm sure they have done that internally. It's possible at this point that the amount of exit fees will end up exceeding the total value of the signed TV deal. Factor in the likely sale of the name and there might be enough blood money to keep teams from moving to the non-contract league options. Of course at this point the 10 million dollar exit fees are worth more to the league than any team left in the league is, including UCONN and Cincy.

And USMBACKER, we get it. Tulane rejected you and you're hurt by it. Now the hatred spilleth over. Get some diversity in your posts please.

This picture sums up Tulane football perfectly. Now it is the BE's problem, not ours. Thank you BE....

I think time will tell where that conference is going to rate and I believe C-USA is going to do fine, so regardless I am feeling USM will be fine also. I really don't know where that conference will be at this time next year, and I can't say USM won't be among them or not, but I really expect USM will be in C-USA and C-USA will be the better conference in the next 5 years or at least on the same footing (which I already think we are now). I believe both conferences will be at the same chance of playing in the National Championship Game as the champion is now and that is NONE!!! Even if one of these 2 conferences has an undefeated champion they won't be in the N.C. Game because that is off limits to both. So, congrats to all none of us will have a chance at the National Title no matter how good we are.

CUSA will be the better conference when they start stealing teams from the Big East instead of the reverse, i.e. probably never.

Why is the national championship game off-limits to anyone? I don't know about 2013, but there have been and will continue to be years where USM's schedule is good enough to get us there. If not, we need to schedule better teams.

You can attempt to set up a false equality between CUSA and the Big East, but it's just not accurate. You can't compare schools like Houston (with its Heisman Trophy), Memphis (recent runner up in hoops), and ECU (top 10 finisher in FB back in the 1990s) to the schools brought in as replacements.

I don't see USM sticking around long... at least, I hope not.

That link doesn't work, but when I go to the site, it really seems like something put together by a survivalist, militia member type. I wouldn't rely on anything posted there.

Please forgive anyone from USM who's trashing Tulane or the Big East. Most of it is just misdirected envy. I have specific complaints about Tulane that I make from time to time, that's true. All that sports-related crap really is just crap, though. There's no risk of CUSA overtaking the Big East and no loyalty issue here.

Whoops. Was just a link to USM's financial records showing the 1.15million dollar budget deficit they were sitting on. I don't have a problem with USM fans. I like USM. Eaglerock and USMbacker are just trollin again.

Do USM fans a favor and become a Tulane fan.
