From an RPI perspective..what would be better?
A home loss to UCF or a road loss to Marshall, Xavier or UTEP?

None of the above.

You don't want a home loss to anyone. Road loss to Marshall would be a disaster since they are in the 200's. Xavier if I had to choose because they have a better RPI, don't play in our conference and don't have Tim Floyd as a coach.

Road losses are always better...I think the formula is below.

Road loss = .6 Loss
Road win = 1.4 win
Home win = .6 win
Home loss = 1.4 losses

As far as who you lose to on the road, it doesn't matter. RPI will be essentially the same either way.

You sure as hell don't want the road loss to Marshall. That would be the worst by far.

Losing @ UTEP or @ Xavier would be the best, strictly as far as RPI is concerned. I actually think losing a game at either UCF or UTEP would be better than @ Xavier, because if you lose @ Xavier, the media hacks will immediately say that that loss shows how horrible C-USA is.

Good point.
